Donald Trump is right about North Carolina bathroom law
HotAir.com ^ | 04/22/2016 | TAYLOR MILLARD

AP has already looked at some of the ins and outs of Trump’s comments on North Carolina’s bathroom law, but the fact is Donald Trump is right. This doesn’t mean I plan on replacing my #NeverTrump magnet with a “Make America Great Again” one or start delighting in the idea of a Trump presidency. But I’m okay with agreeing with him on this even if it may be a case of Trump the blind squirrel finding the nut.

-----------------------------

This debate over bathroom access seems like a ridiculous one for this election cycle, and something which could end up hurting more than helping. Trump is right on this issue. It will be more interesting to see if he decides to switch his position in the next few days (much like he did on abortion) to make sure the evangelicals who follow him stay with his flock. It just would be nice if the debate was about debt and spending cuts, not about bathroom access.

This debate over bathroom access seems like a ridiculous one for this election cycle, and something which could end up hurting more than helping.

We need to frame the debate correctly. A small group of people who are uncomfortable being in bathroom and locker room contact with people of the same sex are demanding that the much larger group of people who are uncomfortable being in close bathroom and locker room contact with people of the opposite sex deal with their discomfort, rather than the tiny group dealing with theirs.

This is not about equality, it is about power expressed on behalf of the tiny minority to undermine the moral underpinnings of our society.

To those who advocate repealing the NC law, please explain why the "rights" on this tiny minority trump (no pun intended) the rights of the vast majority, including underage children who have always been afforded special protection under the law - until the "transgenders" decided to politically riot.

As far as I know there has never been an issue. I’m on the other side of the state, so I’m not really in the know as to what is going on in Charlotte. All I know it was pushed for by the LBGT group headed by some sexual predator, which doesn’t make sense to me, as I believe he was convicted for acts with a boy, so I would think he would rather go to the men’s room.

The law certainly should have been written a better way than how it was, but I also think the proper thing Trump should have said would be something like:

“I don’t know the exact issue with the NC law that was recently passed, so I don’t think I should comment on it without the facts. I don’t personally have a problem with transgender people using the bathroom that they want, but honestly, it’s a state issue, so it should be something for them to decide”.

^That would have been the presidential thing to say. At this point I feel like he jumped in on it exactly like Obama did with the Trayvon (and other) cases, where he gave it two cents without know the whole story.

Restrooms are a plumbing question. Your plumbing should
match the sign on the restroom you use.

You won’t need an ID. When they walk around naked they will have their dangle showing.

A regular ID would work unless states now let you to choose your gender based on self-identification.

So what was the point of this then?

We have already included these separate male/female/family restrooms as a third option to the traditional male only, female only setup. Why is this not enough? If Bruce Jenner 'feels' uncomfortable going into the men's room, then he can go here.

I see the mentally ill transgenders being beaten up when they walk into a womens bathroom.

It is a local issue, not one that the President is going to be involved in.

It’s not an issue about whether they exist or not- it’s an issue about whether they are protected by law should they desire to expose themselves to young girls and people’s wives-

Gee, I haven't seen any law that allows them to expose themselves to anyone! That's still a crime - indecent exposure. Let me ask you, when you go into the men's room do you expose yourself to other men? When I'm in the ladies room I've never had other people expose themselves to me nor have I exposed myself to them.

It is an issue of who can handle them, they are local issues, not Federal ones.

people don ‘t take showers with their clothes on

[[Let me ask you, when you go into the men’s room do you expose yourself to other men?]]

men stand at urinals- they are exposed- so no there isn’t a law banning exposure in bathrooms and we’re not just talking bathrooms here- this will affect everything- showers, changing rooms, locker rooms- and you will not be allowed to object to a man who thinks he’s a woman walking around nude in a locker room

That's evading the problem. How hard is it to tell someone whether you believe biological males should or should not be allowed in female restrooms and dressing rooms?

... and something which could end up hurting more than helping...yeah - until the first sensational rape maybe murder of a young girl by some psychopath who uses his suddenly-found passion for being a woman on a particular day as an excuse for getting himself into an otherwise deserted restroom somewhere - then see how quickly the hurt goes away.....

It isn’t evading the problem when the President has nothing to do with the problem.

Perhaps it is time for a third party now.
A 50 state ground game is already in place.
Disenfranchised conservatives can unite under one new banner.

We may never have a better chance.

Then we can rid ourselves of the surrender monkeys and let them fall into the dust bin of history.

With the rest of Rino/GOPe/One-worlder oligarchy.

We can just say we are “EVOLVING”.

How about Cruz/Rubio as founders of the new conservative party? Unbound by the establishment of either side. With a platform and a pact based on the constitution and the Bill Of Rights. A pact with the American people that will not be subject to the evolving values and changing flavors of those who continue to “fundamentally change” America.

AMERICAN PATRIOT COALITION.
AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE PARTY.
AMERICAN CONSTITUTION PARTY.

The symbol. An eagle (heh) in full flight with a musket in one talon and a cornucopia in the other. Above and slightly behind him, an American flag in the middle, on the left the flag of the 13 Colonies and on the right...Don't Tread On Me.

Grass roots, Tea Party, Paul/Libertarian as well as other conseravtive groups...already on the ground now...united and undaunted.

Hmmmm. Won't win the White House but could win Utah, Oklahoma, maybe even Colorado. Texans might be interested. And just think of the chaos the could be wrought in Florida.

Two Cuban Americans on the ticket, combine that base with a revitalized and rejuvenated grass roots/Tea-Party?

That will leave a mark. It would be the strongest start to a third party in the history of this nation.

The GOPe doesn't want us...that is clear. The left? Hate us just as much. So, instead of the party leaving us (again), this time...this time my FRiends...WE LEAVE THE PARTY with a fully functional and operational 50 state ground game in place and ready to go.

Interested in all of your input on this...came to me last night...out of nowhere....well somewhere...most likely from up above.

And questions, input, advice, and filling in of some the gaps are welcome...from all.

Think of the possibilities....some of us have clamoring for a viable third party option for years. We have the best chance we have ever had to make one.

And it is a turnkey operation.

Cruz/Rubio 3rd party run?
Why not.

This is America....revolution is in our nature.

FRgards,

Jedi.

Outstanding. I voted for Trump to send a message. He was a Republican at the time....they said.

A conservative they said.

Must be one of those many different flavors of conservatism I have been told about since Donny the Demonrat Donor joined the race.

See tag line.

Input welcome.

FRgards,

Jedi.

p.s. I understand some in Texas are chomping at the bit for a 3rd party. We have a 50 state operation in place..RIGHT NOW!

I believe SAFETY is the issue that most of the women in this nation are concerned about...not potties.

Safety of their families.

Most men too.

Your missing the point.

But there is a NEW HOPE.

See tag line.

Input is welcome.

Think “TURNKEY OPERATION”.

FRgards,

Jedi.
