Trump: I would change GOP platform on abortion
CNN ^ | 04/21/16 | David Wright

Donald Trump said Thursday he would change the Republican Party platform's position on abortion to include exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.

Trump made the remarks during a town hall on the "Today" show on NBC on Thursday morning when host Savannah Guthrie asked him about abortion exceptions.

"The Republican platform every four years has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child should not be infringed," Guthrie said. "And it makes no exceptions for rape, for incest, for the life of the mother. Would you want to change the Republican platform to include the (abortion) exceptions that you have?"

"Yes, I would. Yes, I would. Absolutely," Trump said. "For the three exceptions, I would."

Currently, the Republican platform abortion policy reads: "We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed."

More brilliance and pragmatism, I’m sure.

At this rate, he’ll be all for an “assault weapons ban” by Saturday.

Oh, wait...

I think you can say the rape/incest exception is a poison pill for Democrats. They want all abortions, Trump wants to eliminate 90+ percent of them.

Cruz-servatives who currently have 0 percent just want to grandstand.

You're either pro abortion or pro life. "Pro Choice" is a bullshit, cop-out propaganda phrase. Exceptions for 'rape and incest' are just euphemisms for Pro Abortion.

Donald Trump is Pro Abortion.

The polls that I’ve seen show HRC crushing DJT by a yuge margin. All of them.

Same polls show HRC and TC about tied often with HRC slightly ahead.

If we are going to choose solely on the basis of electability, you would have to go with Kasich, who soundly trounces HRC in just about every poll I’ve seen.

As for me. I’m going for the one true conservative and one true outsider in this race: Ted Cruz!

[But allowing for exceptions makes it more likely to pass legislation.]

Unfortunately TRUMP appears to be the same old, same old.
Abortion is murder. No matter how the baby was conceived, the little baby in the womb is a life who is independent of the mother.

God knows every infant before before they are born. Every child has been given a name and a purpose.

Only when our country embraces total life will there be forgiveness and healing in America.

Hopefully someone in TRUMP’S inner circle can set him straight on life issues.

10% getting killed ok with you?

Abortion issue notwithstanding, Trump is not the next Ronald Reagan. That’s what we needed. I’ll vote for the pompous blowhard as the lesser of socialist evils. Hope he proves me wrong...

At what point to Trump fan boys start admitting this was a massive, unbridled and fatal error to catapult this idiot this far?

“Islam, second amendment and illegal immigration first.”

Because there’s no way he’ll bargain those positions away either, right?

And the real Donald Trump has stepped forward.

He's been around all along. Many have just refused to see.

The bottom line is the president doesn’t have much say so when it comes to bathrooms or abortion.

we will see how much power the president has to say and do regarding bathrooms. This current on did a lot on same sex marriage and that isn't a presidential power either.

But it seems that conservatives want the feds to use constitutionally nonexistent federal government powers to force their pro-life agenda down everybody’s throats just like the godless Democrats (thanks Ann Coulter) do with pro-abortion politics.

The defense of the individual God-given, unalienable right to life is the raison d'etre of our American governments, at all levels. It's not optional, for the general government, or the state governments.

So if there’s a rape, the baby should be killed? What kind of sense does that make?

No sense at all for some men.

boy, what a bunch of f...ts Trump supporters are being today.

We knew this was his stand on abortion already.

He is right that it would destroy businesses to build a third bathroom. That's absurd.

I do disagree with him on them being able to choose their own bathrooms.

How often is this gonna happen? Don't we hate it when the left uses 10 mass shootings a year to try and destroy our party.

And what's the alternative? Cruz? Who couldn't win the South OR the North.

How exactly is he getting to 270?

If he gets rid of illegals and balances the budget OR gets the economy growing at 5 percent or more again, he will do more than the candidates many of the PROFESSIONAL GENTLEMAN LOSERS on this board would choose.

Then when they lose, they can sing that hit song “alone in my principles.

Get the @#$@# out of here.

Trump!!!

DT is a Nationalist Populist. I would agree with that.

But I’m still a Constitutional Conservative and when the primary happens here in CA, I am going to vote for the one true Constitutional Conservative on the ballot, Ted Cruz!

Not correct: But Rubio stood by his actions while speaking on Beck’s radio program, saying he wouldn’t use the word “regret” in describing his participation in the Gang of Eight.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/08/17/how-marco-rubio-reacted-when-asked-point-blank-do-you-regret-being-part-of-the-gang-of-eight/

Rubio also never said that amnesty was wrong, just the way they were going about it was.

But thanks for showing me the lengths that Trump troos will go to to keep from admitting that they are ok with supporting a liberal Democrat.
