Cruz is the one splitting the party in half. I detest this man.
I started supporting him, and now I’m ending up to despise him as well.
I hope he spends the rest of his life getting punched in the face by random strangers passing him on the street.
Trump is the one destroying the party...I thought that was a good thing. But cruz splitting them in half is a bad thing?
Hmmmmm....
Don’t you know he’s on a special mission from God?
“Cruz is the one splitting the party in half. I detest this man.”
Actually, it’s the Republicans who believe that Trump is likely to be a constitutional and conservative disaster who are splitting the party. That is, the people in the party are split. If conservatives believed Trump was actually a conservative who would respect the Constitution, this nomination would have been over a long time ago. His nasty and unfounded attacks against the grassroots conservatives have not helped his cause here at all.
Having Cruz out of the race is not going to fix the party split. The only thing that will fix the split, should Trump win, is if he were to govern as a Constitutional conservative. I think that is unlikely. But should that happen, he will find a conservative movement eager to work with him and a reunified party. If not, we might as well have elected Mitt Romney and given him an attitude.
Now, as a wholly political strategy, the smart thing for both The Donald and Ted Cruz to do, would be to bury their differences, agree that The Donald is the top of the ticket and Cruz is the VP, and present this to the delegates at the convention, immediately after the first ballot, or before the first ballot, and any other names are introduced to the nominations.
Bigger differences than this were split to produce the “fusion” ticket of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush in 1980. Reagan’s “supply side” economic program was called “voodoo economics” by Bush.
Which pretty much passed for “name-calling” back then.
NOW you guys care about the party?
LOL
He talks about coming together and then does this! If the man woke up he would understand only 4 states has voted for him, including his own with less than 50% . He came third in three swing must win states. Maybe 4th if you include NH.
he would never win FL here and yet this man who is doing the establishment bidding and letting his own ego get in the way is splitting the party. he he talks about unity.
Do you even realize how dumb that sounds? One man can’t split a party in half. If the party splits in half it is because half the people in the party can no longer tolerate the other half, which leaves a whole lot more than just one person responsible.
As Trump is campaigning in Indiana today Cruz is in Florida trying to get in the front of the door of the RNC meeting. The reason? To kiss their ass some more and make sure everything is still on for them to steal the election for him on the second ballot. Cruz is lower than low. Not even eligible to run for the office and the hispanic version of Obama is going all out trying to get the nomination, which will split the Republican Party for years to come. If the GOPe screws Trump for Cruz it means one thing and one thing only. They would rather lose with Cruz than Trump beat Hillary Clinton. They know that Cruz has no conceivable way in the world of beating her in a general election, but they would rather have her than Trump. Cruz actually thinks they like him and actually thinks they think he can win. He’s delusional.

IMHO, Trump has split the party from the very beginning of the campaign with his personal insults, threats, and profanities for just about every one of his fellow competitors. The man is a vulgar narcissist who should never be allowed near the oval office!
I would love to see Cruz go 3rd party, if for no other reason that to deny Trump the Presidency! The country is screwed either way...Trump or Clinton!
Right there with ya.
