Climate change is the topic of Youth Government Day this Thursday at Benedictine University (read more on the event's link below).
Renowned climate scientist and researcher Dr. James Hansen is to speak. Dr. Hansen is professor at Columbia University's Climate Science, Awareness and Solutions program and was, for many years, a researcher at NASA. I'll be speaking to students during the daytime session and am looking forward to introducing Dr. Hansen who will speak during the daytime session and during the evening program, to which the public is invited. There are a limited number of seats still available for the evening program--they're available on a first-come, first served basis. Read more about it here:

The program is being sponsored by the Center for Civic Leadership at Benedictine University which was founded more than a decade ago by former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan. Dr. Phillip Hardy, assistant professor at Benedictine's Dept. of Political Science has done an amazing job of putting this program together. The Center's goal is to encourage discussion of the day's most important issues and service to community. Climate Hear more about Benedictine's Center for Civic Leadership here:

Homeschool. Before it’s too late.
Hansen is NOT a “climate scientist”. His background is astronomy.

Exactly true !
"Common Core" is centralized, government control of education , submitted by Gates, Ayers, and the govt. of Qatar
to make mediocrity ACCEPTABLE , and as the educational STANDARD !
You accomplish mediocrity thru declaring that someone has false qualifications, which they really don't have .
That is how we've already gotten to : "The science is already settled" in supposed scientific inquiry.
I would rather have Tom Cruse instruct on the existence of 'space aliens' thru the scientific inquiry of Scientology !
Science is constantly changing and reorganizing, and making new discoveries,.. It is never static .
I truly hope that James Hansen’s retirement will be with Michael Mann in a cell in a federal penitentiary.
In the May 2000 issue of Reason Magazine, award-winning science correspondent Ronald Bailey wrote an excellent article titled Earth Day, Then and Now to provide some historical perspective on the 30th anniversary of Earth Day. In that article, Bailey noted that around the time of the first Earth Day, and in the years following, there was a torrent of apocalyptic predictions and many of those predictions were featured in his Reason article.
- (from 2015): 18 spectacularly wrong apocalyptic predictions made around the time of the first Earth Day in 1970, expect more this year
