Reince Priebus Blasted for 'Major Breach of Trust' by Top RNC Officials
The Washington TImes ^ | 4/16/2016 | Ralph Z. Hallow

Posted on 04/18/2016 5:44:09 AM PDT by LNV

"Reince Priebus' former loyalists say they have reluctantly concluded that forces at the RNC will stop at virtually nothing to keep the door open to the nomination of Ohio Gov. John Kasich at the July convention – or, as some skeptics fear, some “white knight” who moderates claim will have broader voter appeal this fall than either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz, the two top-delegate winners, have shown in most polls so far."

Priebus et al want to run the convention by rules that would allow the Chairman, who is scheduled to be none other than Paul Ryan, to procedurally "close" the nomination process and "reopen" it, which would allow names of nominees who did not meet the agreed upon rules to be entered in nomination. IOW, they are STILL planning to put someone other than Trump or Cruz in at the convention, and this is the method they plan to use to do it.

There is a civil war going on between a rules committee member who wants the approved rules to govern the convention, and Priebus who wants the Chairman to have the power to circumvent the approved and voted upon rules.

“...which would allow names of nominees who did not meet the agreed upon rules to be entered in nomination.”

How many times must it be said that this is BS! Until the rules committee meets and the convention at large votes, there are no “agreed upon rules”. Every convention approves it’s own set of rules.

If the grass roots delegates don’t like a rule, they can vote it down in committee or on the convention floor.

well, if trump doesn’t win outright, we need to gather a group to go down there and kick some @@@@.

I don’t have kids so I don’t give a #$#@$ about spending a night or a week in jail for protesting.

I know it’s a lot harder here for most.

plus i’m not playing with a full deck of cards, as most of you know.

most of you don’t need that grief in your life.

but me, I’ve had it.

I’ll tweet or say anything to anyone..muslim, liberal, socialist..because i’m done.

If the wife has to move because of threats, so be it.

this is a war guys.

There is no country if Hillary/Bernie wins.

Read the article. Priebus is planning to run the convention under procedures that will allow the Chairman to disregard the rules after they have been written by the rules committtee and voted on by the delegates. Forces withing the rules committee are fighting back.

I’ve been hypothesizing that one million Trump supporters could show up on our own. Consider that he gets tens of thousands of supporters at his rallies. Many of those supporters are a shorter drive from Cleveland than the time they waited to get into the rally.

The RNC are scum. Sarah Palin warned about the ruling class and crony capitalists in her classic speech, in the rain, in a field of rolling hills, in front of an audience of around 5000, near Indianola, Iowa, in September 2011. The RNC embodies what she was talking about.

She was spot on. I just wish she had a voice that people could find more appealing. She is a national treasure. So is Donald Trump.

Priebus is presiding over the destruction of the republican party. How long have backroom political fat-cat hacks been "selecting" the candidate and NOT THE PEOPLE?

The white knight is none other them Jeb Bush who said last year, “I will lose the primary and win the general election”.

That should tell you all you need to know.

Even though Trump wins say 50 delegates in a state the GOPe select the delegates. We call that rigged where I’m from.

Maybe you didn’t understand, the rules that are voted on by the “grass root” delegates can be overridden by Priebus and Ryan. I am sure this is not the system our founding fathers envisioned.

How many times must it be said that this is BS! Until the rules committee meets and the convention at large votes, there are no “agreed upon rules”. Every convention approves it’s own set of rules.

The 2012 rules are officially the temporary rules for the 2016 Convention. To change them by too much would seem corrupt. These news stories are a good thing if they get both Cruz and Trump to focus on the convention rules, since the rules will decide who wins the convention. Trump and Cruz need to pay as much attention to choosing and then courting loyal delegates as they pay to winning votes and winning delegates.

If Trump gets to 1237 on the first ballot, I'll be very happy. If Cruz gets to 1237 on the second ballot, I'll be surprised but happy. If Trump delegates defect from their candidate while he is leading at the convention, I will be disgusted, even if they vote for Cruz, but I will not be surprised. If Trump and Cruz delegates both turn out to be disloyal, and they defect from their candidates while the two have 80+ percent support, I expect Candidate Kasich to be as weak in the general election as he was in the primaries, and I expect Hillary to win in November.

“How long have backroom political fat-cat hacks been “selecting” the candidate and NOT THE PEOPLE?”

My guess is all along. People are just noticing this year because it’s so blatant.

In 2012 they put in rules to stop Ron Paul.

In preparation for this year they put in rules to help get Jeb over the top, like moving FL’s primary and making it winner take all. None of those moved worked so it’s desperation time.

Millions of votes being cast, and the rules for interpreting them still aren’t decided - allowing so much as ignoring those votes outright and simply coronating a candidate?

Watching the Republicans over the past 25 plus years, and having been a fairly substantial contributor in days past, I am not surprised by any degree of manipulative lying and conniving and deceit they manage to conjure to screw over their “base” ...

To hell with the Republican elites. The degree to which they scramble, and suffer and fail and fall only reinforces my belief in karma. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch ...

More from the article:

“Mr. Yue’s rules change would substitute the almost universally known and used Robert’s Rules of Order, which already governs all RNC meetings, for the complex U.S. House of representatives rules that have governed past national conventions. The U.S. House Rules, however, allow the convention chairman virtually dictatorial powers, regardless of the will of the majority of convention delegates.”

Conventions have been governed in the past by US House Rules that allow the chairman to do this. The rules committee is trying to change that, specifically a Mr. Ash and Mr. Yue, but Priebus and his unnamed co-conspirators are fighting it.
