This is an excellent post by Farah. Trump is a master tactician and that is why he is actually the best qualified of the candidates.

He and his supporters are not angels—and yeah it is not “nice” to talk about “lying Ted”.

But—I agree that Trump is a Sun Tzu guy. Shape the battlefield, draw your opponent into the battlefield of your choosing, and then annihilate them.

We should see this in action in the Northeast states in the upcoming primaries.

As for the general election—rinse and repeat.

I get it: The Colorado GOP decided last August that nobody but the GOPe should have any voice in deciding who the candidate for president should be.

Then, through an astoundingly sharp bit of electioneering, ALL of the delegates go to Cruz, followed by a triumphant tweet "#NeverTrump".

Yet all of that was still Trump's fault, since he didn't decode the byzantine Colorado GOP loaded-against-him process and/or file a lawsuit to get the full electorate back into the actual voting process.

Swell. And you really think that I would ever vote for the scumbags that pull crap like this?

Or maybe he thought he’d win well enough without having to pay for some advice but discovered otherwise, which is why he finally hired some experts.

If he had just made the effort, he wouldn’t have lost so many delegates. Why risk an brokered convention when you don’t have to?

Maybe he understood. Maybe it was calculated. Maybe he saw the potential in being able to display clearly to all of America how corrupt the current system is. Once that message was understood by the normally uninformed voters, it provided more opportunity for voters to turn to the “outsider” who’s running. Him.

Who knows? He’s not an idiot. He seems always to have been a couple steps ahead of the competition from the get-go, and has a well-honed sense of strategy.

Colorado was not the only State that Cruz cherry picked delegates away from tRump. No, do not believe this for a minute. tRump is not in to win this.

He got in the race to promote a contract for a new reality TV show and did not think he would ever get this for and now he is stuck.

He cannot get out and he sure does not want to win because being president of the US is just not his gig. Why would he not know the rules if he is SO smart and such a GREAT businessman and SO good at making deals.

Either he is a buffoon or he wants to lose

Seems a typical reaction of most north-easterners to anything different than what they consider the ‘norm’ which is their way they do things.

Face it our culture is made up of three ways of thinking, there is the West coast way of doing things the Northeast coast way and there is the middle of the country made up of the great unwashed of red necks, bible toting gun carrying inbreds. Well I for one am a proud unwashed and I am always ready to use my bible or my gun or both to run hippies and Yankees back to where they come from.

Funny how infowars is supposed to be the conspiracy nuts but are reporting and interviewing real delegates about what really happened.. No other media has done such interviews to such extent... And the ones who are supposed to be sane, like this media outlet have turned into the conspiracy kooks. This is laughable if not so pathetic to see.

Well, has anything much except Trump's fight with the GOPe been in the news ?

He put the GOPe and Cruz on the defensive on purpose.

Trump is not stupid,of course he knows. He is just a liar using this part of the election to play His followers like a worn fiddle.

“We all know Trump uses unusually harsh rhetoric in attacking people. He calls them liars. He calls them cheats. This is not the kind of talk we normally hear in American political campaigns, unless someone doesn’t know the microphone is live.

Trump does it routinely – every day.”

Yes, and voters of the other candidates that Trump will need if he won the nomination will hate his filthy rotten guts.

Trump is too stupid to figure that part out though.

If he didn't know months in advance, he found out early on that delegate binding and delegate selection are two different things. Each has its own process, and each has its own rules. For a candidate, those realities are unavoidable to see and figure out.

Trump is playing it very well, I think. Manafort is tending to the detail work, and Trump is prepping the public perception battlefield. If a Cruz second-ballot delegate is disqualified from the convention, the attempts to call the disqualification "dirty tricks" will be countered with a claim that Trump and Manafort are just using the rules.

That said, I don't think Trump is engaged in this sort of strategy from the start. This is not part of his delegate accumulation plan - compared with Cruz and the GOPe who have executed their side of the plan (delegate selection) many times in the past. I think that Trump is a "political ground game" neophyte, and likely missed opportunities to battle that he would rather have taken.

Trump has spent his life mastering arcane zoning laws, obscure land restrictions, dense real estate provisions, complicated contracts, and (as he says, his “favorite”) long and detailed financial reports.

Anyone who thinks Trump did not understand the rules in general and the Colorado rule changes made in August is very naive. When Colorado changed the rules Trump knew immediately and planned accordingly.

And his plan has totally out maneuvered Cruz, the GOPe and the media, who all now look like stupid idiots.

Cruz is collapsing and Trump is soaring, as anticipated.

Nope. Trump is caught up in himself. He isn’t that smart. This fiasco hasn’t been a win for him, it’s hurt him because he’s now perceived as a whiner. A big one at that.

As I stated earlier;
Cruz left Colorado with 34 delegates, plus or minus.
Trump left Colorado with a cause.
A cause that he just may ride into the White House.

Well, not the White House. He will not be able to live there during the fumigation and restoration.

As I have said before, Trump is not only intelligent, but he’s a genius when dealing with politicians. I watch in utter amazement!!!
