Army approves first 22 female officers for ground combat jobs

The U.S. Army on Friday announced it has approved the first 22 women to be commissioned as infantry and armor officers after new rules issued last month opened all combat roles to female service members.

The move is a major milestone on the road to fully integrating women into combat jobs. The Army is taking a leadership first position by first placing female soldiers in leadership roles in combat roles that were not previously open to them, then allowing those women to train and mentor female enlisted combat soldiers.

The 22 women are near completion of their officer training and will be commissioned as second lieutenants in coming weeks, USA Today reported.

“The army will act like its working, with no downside...”.

The officer corps will act like it’s working, to keep their careers on track.

I very recently talked to an Army combat veteran (Iraq) and he said just training with females in simulated combat/long march conditions was an absolute disaster and will leave other soldiers vulnerable and/or killed. His and some of his fellow soldier’s take on it, though, was that if the women could keep up with them (and there a few that could), and do the same things they did they were fine with it. But all too often the women would buckle under the pressure (getting yelled at) or unable to physically keep up (male soldiers literally carrying them and their rucks).

Obama is succeeding to do to the US military what the Kaiser, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Mao,Stalin, Minh, al Queda tried to do but failed.

Breast cancer ribbons and Hello Kitty pink quarters.

I doubt many freezers have seen the videos of troops training with men in high heels and fake pregnancy garments on. Woo! Woo!

I guess dropping the driver escape hatch & cutting a hole in the driver seat would work. That’s for M48’s & M60’s, don’t know about Abrams.

Went to the Armor School with Israeli veterans of the ‘73 war. In the Sinai they were buttoned up in their vehicles for days on end and personal hygiene nearly ceased.

Females in combat MOSs is totally messed up and it will not end well.

Yeah, I want to see a female tank crew break track. In the mud. In 40F weather.

Or undress to obey the call of nature.

What happens to these female warriors if they’re captured by the enemy?

Well we might remember that already happened after the little blonde melted the barrel on her rifle taking out the enemy. We then spent a few million dollars rescuing the hero and used the whole issue to propagandize the women in the military fighting force, into a joke.

Well said, and if I remember correctly afterward she said she never fired a shot.

She’s going to be in the cupola of a tank giving fire commands.....sleeping in the mud...washing....urinating from the back of the tank..within view of the crew, platoon, troop.

Viet Nam soldiers had a way of dealing with that.

The Kitsap Sun reports that 18-year-old Levani Ilasa enlisted Wednesday in the Army as an M1 armor crewman. Armor, cavalry and other combat jobs opened to women April 1.

They'll do what women like Michelle Fields does, file criminal charges if they so much as touch them.

I was with armored cavalry in Vietnam. It never would have worked there.
Too raw. Too salty. Too grinding. Too bloody. Too close. Too male.
