We could agree then that whoever decided this role for women never was in combat. Of course these gals are destined for a quick promotion up to safety.

I was ADA, Chaparral/Vulcan (airbase defense). I lucked out, women were not allowed in that MOS. Chaparral crews' authorized strength was a 5 man squad. Back in the late 70s, our actual crews were 3 or 4 man squads.

Chaparral missiles weighed over 190 lbs, and I would lend a hand in a reloading exercise if we were shorthanded.

During tac evals, you stayed out in the field the entire time, no breaks to go back to the barracks and shower.
