The whole thing is idiotic. I buy 5 and 10 of things...but 100??
For two really, really smart people....DUMB.

The level of discourse on this forum has fallen off a cliff. It's become an embassment of stupidity.
I miss the intelligent debates and insight we used to have around here. Now, we have this idiocy.

Well, for my part, I certainly wouldn’t want as President someone who buys 100 cans of soup. If he trusted God, as he says he does, he wouldn’t buy any soup at all. He’d just gather the manna that falls from Heaven every morning after praying for it in the evening.

The clam chowder and the sirloin(like) soup are pretty good.

Nothing wrong with that. I eat soup for lunch. 100 cans when Campbell’s chunky or Progresso is on sale is doable. Would last me weeks. Plus it’s a nice hedge against those weeks I’m sick and can’t spend as much on groceries.

When I was pregnant, the only thing that I was able to keep down for a good 2 months was the Campbell’s Steak and Potato soup.

99 cans of Chunky on the wall, 99 cans of Chunky:
You take one down, and eat it and frown, 98 cans of Chunky on the wall...
And remember, when you outta slits, you’re outta pier.
(I truly long for the days when we actually discussed worthwhile topics on FR.)

I've been eating healthier lately and taken off some serious weight. One thing I cut from my diet is canned soup. Just too much sodium.
What I do now is make my own soup from scratch. Typically I'll boil up a chicken or turkey carcass, remove the meat and discard the bones. Then I'll simmer for a few hours after which time I'll add in onions, garlic, mushrooms and lots of celery. Maybe a carrot or two. All this stuff I chop up myself with my butcher knife. Then I'll add the meat back in at the end (if you put it back in too early, it gets all stringy).
Really, really good soup. Way better than what you get canned. But it does require an investment of your labor and time.

Progresso Lentil is my go-to when I don’t have time to cook lunch for hubby (or we’re waiting on slow paying clients). I also stock soups as part of my effort to have enough food on hand to weather the aftermath of a big storm. You need certain soups for casserole making. Yep. I’m pretty sure I could stash and use a 100 cans.

Heidi said that while Ted was sleeping, she brought all 100 cans back to the store, but after a panicked phone call to her mother "just to make sure I'd done the right thing as a newlywed," she realized the soup should stay. While this may endear them to those of the Mormon persuasion, and some fringe Pentecostals, I don't see it connecting with the rest of the people. This was not the picture his campaign wanted to paint; bizarre and foreign.
