Bozell and Graham: Donald Trumps Rigged Media
Conservative Review ^ | 04/13/16 | Brent Bozell & Tim Graham

Posted on 04/13/2016 6:36:58 PM PDT by writer33

Now that it looks like the GOP nomination won't be decided until a contested convention in Cleveland, Donald Trump and his supporters assert that the whole system is undemocratic.

But if democracy was organized to give everyone a fair and equal shot to impress voters with their knowledge and experience, then our system has been rigged for Trump for the last nine months. The media -- not just the liberal media, but some "conservative" media, too -- have been the gale-force wind beneath Trump's wings.

On the nightly news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump has far outpaced anyone other GOP candidate for attention. From last July through April 6, he's drawn 1,228 minutes of airtime, or 56 percent of the total coverage of the Republican primary race. The other 16 candidates have split the remaining 44 percent. Trump's closest rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, has only been granted 269 minutes of airtime, or 12 percent. That's roughly a 5 to 1 disparity. Gov. John Kasich has received only 46 minutes, or 2.1 percent of the Republican nightly news pie. Even when Cruz or Kasich win a primary, the dominant story is Trump stumbling, not them winning. It's Trump or virtually nothing by design.

Even in the first week of April, when Cruz won Wisconsin, Trump drew 74.5 percent of news minutes.

Now that's what you call a rigged system. They might as well just make a donation to the Trump campaign and get it over with. Another great read by Bozell and Graham.

That is a rigged system. They spend all this airtime telling everybody how Trump is such a terrible, racist human being who hates everybody & will destroy the world. The Boston Globe even came out with a fake newspaper edition in order to bash Trump. The system is rigged, it is anti-Trump all day.

What is not reported is that about 75% of that attention was negative and derogatory towards Trump...

The GOPe and the leftist liberal media are in bed together to prevent Trump from spoiling their cushy lives...

From the article:

Forget about fairness and balance. Anyone who tunes in is aware that the networks' coverage of Trump is often negative, but they still deny airtime to his opponents.

Yeah...They are too busy trying to castigate Trump...They don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Trump...All the other candidates are in their pocket...

The “establishment elite” is the UNIPARTY....

Here's another article from Conservative Review:

Carpenter: Blackballing Those Who Endorse Trump

"It’s time to make a list... of those so-called conservatives and Republicans endorsing Donald Trump"

“Never Trump” means never those who support him as well.

When it comes to media coverage and time of said media coverage, nobody does it better than Bozell. And he has issued a challenge at the end of the article for anyone who doesn’t believe it to disprove it.

A great read all in all.

No wonder this country is in such terrible shape. First, ours is not a democracy. Second no one has a right to any vote in a primary. Second, the ego with the bad combover isn’t intitled because of popularity. The republican party is a private entity that can pick its candidate any way it so chooses. What a bunch of dumb a55es.

You folks are a strange group. You don’t admit for a minute that the coverage on Trump has been 100% negative from day one.

Cruz was benefited with thousands of hours of prime time slams of Trump at no cost.

These networks and news outlets donated tens of millions of dollars worth of hit pieces to Cruz’s campaign.

I don’t see any mention of that.

I don’t know about folks, but I am an American. As for the article, it merely points out a coverage of total media times. And it does mention the negative coverage of Trump. It’s all in there.

That’s from the article. It’s all in there.

Cruz was benefited with thousands of hours of prime time slams of Trump at no cost.

Furthermore, if anyone thinks there would be favorable coverage of the new front runner if they succeed (God forbid) in taking Trump out, they are delusional.

Especially since Cruz has been so dishonest in his campaign and tactics. He'll be toast if he ever becomes the nominee--he has given the media the tools with which to crush him.

It’s also not reported that Cruz isn’t interviewed as much because he rejects the interviews.

Hannity told Cruz on air: the reason we have you less is because you reject the interviews.

Anderson Cooper told Cruz on air: the reason we have you less is because you reject the interviews.

Now, why does Ted Cruz is better off with less interviews and less media coverage? Because the more voters see him, the less they like him. That’s why he chose the strategy of minimizing airtime (and then he hypocritically complains about it).

Thank for the comments. I agree with your thoughts too.

Isn’t it interesting that Cruz kept silent for month after month of Trump getting eviscerated in the media at no cost to hem, and then after ten months tries to float the idea that this was all free press given to Trump to hurt him.

Ted really is a weasel.
