Cruz's Relationship with Cornyn Seen as Disconnected
The Texas Tribune ^ | 04/12/16 | Abby Livingston

WASHINGTON — One is a steady 16-year veteran of the U.S. Senate, a well-connected elder in the Grand Old Party. The other is an energetic bomb thrower who in four short years has positioned himself as the only thing standing between the Republican presidential nomination and Donald Trump.

Together, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz represent Texas in the U.S. Senate. That means regularly working together in the best interests of their state.

For years, their detached relationship has been little more than the subject of Capitol Hill gossip. Yet now, with their party at a crossroads and the presidential nomination at stake, Cornyn's and Cruz's fates may be unexpectedly intertwined. Yet the widely held perception in Washington is that the pair are the two same-state senators who least like each other.

Source is a liberal rag in Austin TX, just throwing rocks.

Cornyn has been more of a liberal Republican than he has been a conservative, and only gets a 48% rating.

Cruz has a 97% rating. Any wonder why they don’t get along?

Establishment he ain’t.

Of course not. Trump and his spox are pushing that, part of the liar and cheater chatter that is only firing up his base but bringing in no new supporters.

Here is the real Trump - taking money intended for small businesses. He also made his first donation since 9/11/01 to the 911 memorial five days ago. Out of his pocket or his foundation like his other charitable donations?

link and excerpt:

But it’s worth remembering that amid Trump’s flowery praise for his city, the real-estate mogul took advantage of taxpayer-funds designed to help struggling small-business owners in Lower Manhattan affected by the attack.

For a non-politician Trump certainly traveled plenty in their circles before he began his run.....he's worked against NY City 'Republicans' at breakneck pace more than just about anyone else there... from buying Democrats favors to supporting NY City candidates for office who pushed the demorat agenda....which of course resulted his directly influencing elections and made certain that the Democratic party maintained a stranglehold over the state’s government....

He's been a a significant backer of the corrupt Democrat machine in New York City.....New York truly does represent the 'liberal Democratic values' that Ted Cruz has claimed they do....and so does Trump.

I am surprised it is that high. Talk about a pompous ass! Have run into him at several local Pubby meetings and refuse to talk to him, stand when he is introduced or acknowledge his presence in any way. Keep hoping that we will be able to get rid of him one of these days. He has more than enough money from his four government pensions to go off and find someone else’s livelihood to ruin.

The last statement by Graham that Senator Cruz should be in the friend making business right now is typical insider speak.

The thing is though, Senator Cruz is not in this race to make friends.

He is in it to win it and he does not need the two face Cornyman to do it.

On the Texas Aggie political forum, it’s all Cruz all the time. They love him.

They think he’s represented Texas well.

My Texas family all voted for Cruz. None of them are Trump supporters.

“Cornyn’s had a cozy time in the Senate and apparently made no enemies. But what has he done?”

Cruz’ time in the Senate has been a time to make a lot of noise, but do little else! At the end of the day, Cruz has behaved just like Obola did. He’s used the Senate as a “prop” for his ultimate goal, the Presidency.

“Cruz has a 97% rating.”

And tell us, just what substantive votes did he make, to warrant such a rating. From what I have seen, he got it simply for talking, because there’s been no “doing” from Ted Cruz, other than some “scripted” useless “fake fillibusters.”

Would those be Levin’s non-biased ratings?

See, I always wondered before how Cruz could get a 97% when Cruz position on immigration and borders is problematic...

Of course, now, I understand that Conservative Review is Levin Review...

I previously believed that, now I’m having a difficult time relating the term “principled” with Ted. Seems pretty obvious he either is GoPe, see previous post, or is allowing himself to be used as a GoPe tool, to stop Trump, it has to be one or the other. Cause he knows he has no chance at winning in Nov.. He can’t win FL or OH, everyone knows this. Voters in those states overwhelmingly rejected him, to the tune of a 1,000,000 vote deficit to Trump. FL and OH are must wins for the R’s.

“Lose with Cruz” is the GoPe plan, while protecting the “fix is in” corrupt candidate primary selection process, not bound by federal election laws, where they limit our choice in the general to their hand picked candidate. McCain, really, Romney, really.

Trump comes along, exposes and blows up the “fix is in” nomination process, a disaster worse than losing to Hillary for the GoPe. And why the RNC with the help of their Tool Ted, and by the way he knows he’s their tool, will work harder taking Trump out than defeating Hillary.

Establishment he ain't.

Ironic statement when the establishment is his biggest defender right now (consolidated to stop trump) because they consider him their best chance to stay ensconced.....he's a willing cat's-paw to them because he thinks it will reap him some sort of rewards.

“I didn’t send Ted to Washington to make friends with Cornyn, McConnell, Ryan, Obama or Pelosi.”

Exactly.
