If the Republican primary process were designed to produce an exactly proportional result based on voters' choice rather than a winner, the party would have been doomed to a contested convention almost from the start.
Donald Trump, who has failed more than any other GOP presidential front-runner in recent history to unite the party behind him, would have no chance of securing the nomination, for he has won only 37 percent of primary votes so far.
Keep this in mind as Trump gripes about how his opponent Ted Cruz secured all 37 delegates at the Colorado convention last weekend. The process is certainly imperfect, but it made clear which candidate knows how to run and organize things and which one doesn't.
Wherever strange or arcane Republican state party rules have benefited Trump, such as when he secured all the pledged delegates in one state while winning only 33 percent of the vote, he's just fine with that. But when the rules hurt him, or he fails to learn or execute a strategy to exploit them, he whines about unfairness. Pretty unimpressive.

Not to worry. Trump will put that violin up Cruz’s butt April 19th and April 26th making Cruz unable to get 1237. Trump will be last candidate standing on April 27th. Trump 1100-Cruz 589. Yieks!
AwwwwTrump lost. Colorado had its rules long ago. If Trump or his staff never bothered to read them—tuff. They have no voting primary. They new this long ago. Trump waited after the caucus to say the rules are unfair. Whether the rules are fair or not, the rules are the rules and they can’t be changed! Why did he not complain about Nevada or Tennessee? I guess only when he loses. Just because he has declared himself the winner does not make it so.

Rules ... long ago? I suppose last August is considered long ago... What you consider a Cruz victory does not translate to a victory when many Colorado voters are very displeased with GOPe rules... Cruz just happens to get to carry the face of the GOPe...rules.. and Cruz already has 'dirty' politician image from his 'face of Jesus' acts in Iowa...
Once again the GOP rules will make Colorado a lib state come November... And people call it a Cruz victory...

Ignore the numbers if you wish, but the fact is that Trump isn’t the “winner” that he claims to be.
The establishment rules that he so loudly deplores have helped him mightily, but his followers can’t accept that. And those rules that favor a front-runner prior to the convention won’t help in November.

Yes, in political terms, August was indeed a long time ago. Trump has no excuse for not knowing the rules, playing by them, and hauling in his share of delegates there.

Seriously, even Cruz supporters should be amazed at Cruz’s magical ability to scoop up nearly every delegate out there for the 2nd round.

As a Colorado resident, I am disgusted beyond words at the utter immorality of the system that allowed this travesty of the political process. The Republicans that did this are people of bad character; Stasi bad, KGB bad, SS bad.

It is time for decent people in Colorado to declare war on the scumbag hustlers that did this. Their businesses should go under; if employed, they should lose their jobs. The delegates should be prevented from traveling to Cleveland.

The only thing that changed is August was that they canceled the straw poll. But since the straw poll had never been used to allocate the delegates, that change did not affect the process used to select the delegates. So yes, the rules used to select the delegates were set long ago.

There are a lot of elderly disabled vets using Colorado-grown pot to gain a bit of relief from the pain of wounds and injuries. The pot does not turn them into liberals.
The problem in CO is not medicine—it is Kaliforniacs. The best thing that could happen would be the emergence of vigilante groups to drive them out.
I am NOT and have NOT made any excuses for Trump. I really thought the objective was to win in November.... I look at the big picture... and what the GOP rules did was turn off the majority of the voters in Colorado... NO wisdom in their rule making.
ONLY? Their rules change was NOT about inviting potential independents and possible DEM voters to joint their little club. Their rules were only for to get an intended result.. So they got their result and made Cruz look like that creepy do whatever it takes Iowa politician... Deal with reality and your rules.

In the 2012 primary elections Mitt Romney won however 40 states plus he won Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, though no formal votes were taken as only 70 people participated
