New York Trump Supporters Denounce Republican Party For ‘Disenfranchising Voters’
Townhall.com ^ | April 11, 2016 | Cortney O'Brien

Donald Trump once claimed he was the "most popular person" in upstate New York. After witnessing the impassioned supporters at a rally in Rochester, N.Y. over the weekend, he may have a point. Over 2,000 people turned up to his speech Sunday, even though temperatures were “frigid.” If you scroll through the event’s pictures, you’ll also find an ardent fan dressed as a “Trump Wall.”

Trump used some of his time at the podium to criticize the election primary process that has so far denied him the delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination. It’s “crooked shenanigans,” he insisted.

His supporters agreed. A few sounded off on what they view as the Republican Party’s bias against Trump.

"The sad thing is the guy's got to go against the Democratic establishment, and now he's got to go against his own party's establishment as well, and it's just not right," said Nasca, 48, who owns an investment company,

"It's absolutely ridiculous. But he's a threat to the big people in politics, the lobbyists, the elitists in the Republican Party," he added. "They're going to disenfranchise their own voters."

Cheryl Griggs, a 59-year-old voter from Hilton, New York, said she’s “never seen anything like it.”

"To go against the votes of the people and the will of the people and put somebody else in there, I think, is horrific."

Indeed, if the Republican primary results in a contested convention and party officials reject the frontrunner, Trump voters will be justifiably unhappy. They will have watched their candidate remain at the top of the polls for months, only to be denied the nomination at the finish line.

Trump isn’t the only one touring upstate New York ahead of next Tuesday’s primary. Former New York Sen. Hillary Clinton spent some time in Buffalo on Friday to try and remind voters how she helped grow the region. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders is speaking at a sold out event at the University at Buffalo on Monday, again proving that he is the Millennial candidate.

Both the Republican and Democratic campaigns are inundating the Empire State because they know how important the delegate-rich primary is in the race to their dueling conventions. Bill Clinton even noted New York could “matter most” in the race.

New York votes next Tuesday, April 19.

Rush can rely on the party gaming rules and say “fair’s fair” but that has no impact on the heartfelt feelings of Trump supporters who feel they’ve been screwed. I hear there are a lot of them in Colorado nowadays.

The sad fact for Mr. Limbaugh and his excuses as well as all the pathetic excuses of the Cruz faction is that actual November 2016 voters don’t have to give a damn about those excuses. When you pretty much telegraph that voter intention and wishes don’t matter where the hell are you different from a rabid Democrat candidate like Hillary or Sanders? How? Apparently, these people think they can feed us sh!t and nothing every 4 years and we hold our sheep noses. Not ONE SECOND more in my book.

Couldn’t agree more!

I challenge Rush to take several phone calls from Trump supporters in Colorado who were disenfranchised and see if they think this is fair. but we both know Rush won’t have the guts to do this!

Rush finally got to where I thought he would be. Middle of the road, “Trump didn’t understand the Colorado Insider’s Game”

That is exactly the point at which I turned him off forever. I don’t really need this man for reasoned input any more. We have NOTHING in common, frankly.

I’m listening to Rush right now, and I don’t think you are being fair. He’s just trying to explain the process.

I’m thinking, since Trump keeps talking about Bernie and the raw deal he’s getting, that at the end of the day Trump and Bernie should join forces. Bernie’s not a Democrat. Trump is obviously getting screwed by the GOP. With the massive turnout they get, Trump and Bernie could totally blow up the political process. Plus, I’d give a lot to hear the two of them discuss Defense, taxes, trade, immigration, etc. They might balance each other out. Or, maybe Trump is more like Bernie than we know. At any rate, I’m sick of Cruz, Ryan and the rest of these slimeballs.

Anyone else watching House of Cards? Somehow, the writers had a premonition about the 2016 political season, as there is a powerful episode about a contested convention.

Trumpkins love to use the phrase “we the people,” when they are only 15% of the national electorate. The American Splendor rejects who make up take-a-Trumps base are what they always despise: a minority group!

Limbaugh will do everything and anything to protect his income stream.

Rush is defending Cruz. Says Cruz knows how to work the party and is working hard.

They have as much chance getting Rush's radio show as they did voting.

I am as fair as I have to be given the histrionics and wildly gesticulating faux outrage Cruz supporters are displaying at Americans who feel they were denied a right for input into the ‘process’ that only insiders need understand in Colorado [God knows in what other ensuing states this insidership will emerge]. That is clearly evident in the multitude of Cruz supporter posts this morning. CLEARLY!

As for Mr. Limbaugh, this man is a millionaire living in a protected, secluded compound in Florida with all the trappings and a G5-G6 anywhere he wants to go play golf or smoke a $100 cigar after a steak dinner with cronies. He bears no resemblance to the plaints and plights of normal Americans. He hasn’t for decades. He speaks for in now way because I know he’s protecting his cushy livelihood.

The whining from Trump is amazing.

He was won 37% of the vote, he has 46% of the delegates.

Trump campaign is faltering so he is attempting to distract with his whining.

If my vote didn’t count in the Florida primary, why would I bother voting in the general? Screw the GOP.

And I will “defend myself” come November 8th 2016. I certainly am not going to consider what Limbaugh says with any credence.

It will certainly be an interesting primary contest election night in New York. One wonders just how Mr. Cruz is working behind the scenes to subvert the results of that election behind closed party doors......
++++
My take on Cruz Subversion: Cruz is exploiting a system designed to favor the front runner. That front runner was expected to be Jeb. It turned out to be Trump. But that system also favors the WELL ORGANIZED. That’s not Trump. That’s Cruz.

If there are any examples of real subversion they should be posted. Working within a system, corrupt or not, is not subversion. It should tell us that the system needs fixing. But don’t blame that problem on Cruz. He had very little to say about how the various states designed their primary systems.

Your acceptance of the reality of party politics is not a mandate that I have to follow suit with a vote for the ‘candidate’ in the general election. We shall see come November 8, 2016. Don’t expect Ted’s ‘better understanding’ of the various states’ GOP party rules to bode him well.

Its not just explaining the process it is rigging the process. Without voter input the process can easily be handed by the establishment to whom ever they want. It is that lack of voter response that will destroy America. The delegates already back in March had decided who they wanted. Voters go to hell!

After Tuesday next, Señor Cruz is an official GOPe spoiler or election thief. Take your pick.

Working within a system, corrupt or not, is not subversion.

So if Trump, as a business man, makes political donations to both parties for the purpose of making hi business easier to run, is a crony capitalist. Does that make Cruz a crony republican?

They are both just "Working within a system, corrupt or not"

New York Trump Supporters Denounce Republican Party For ‘Disenfranchising Voters’

Apparently these people don't know what the word "disenfranchise" means. There is no right to vote in a party primary.
