They landed the first stage. That is the expensive part that usually goes in the drink.

It wouldn’t work well as the first stage of a multistage rocket. This technology will be very reliable in the future, and will drop the cost per pound to orbit to as little as a tenth of what it is now.

Or try again. What is it in people that so frustrates them that they have to throw rocks when people succeed? Jealousy?
They should have tried the barge near the marge of lake lebarge.

If landing a booster rocket on a potentially pitching barge is useful... why not land a booster rocket on something more stable like land? Just wondering. How about some kind of super structure ringing the landing spot, so as to brace the rocket if it lurched/leaned/faltered? Seems like a practical option.

From the second season judging by the costume. The “coffee, tea, or me” era as I recall from her talking about BR at a DragonCon panel.

Some of us are old enough to remember that we would have been first to orbit a satellite if the Vanguard hadn’t collapsed back onto the launch pad and exploded.
Vanguard. Three launches out of 11 succeed.

How is this done with a barge, bobbing up and down in the ocean? Still can’t believe it but I watched it with my own eyes.
