From the description of his job, I'd say he's the new campaign manager, without the title.

About @#$#$ing time!

Someone should have explained to him months ago how important a ground game was in getting delegates.

it’s not fair. But life seldom is

Paul Manafort reputedly has ties to the Russian oligarchs going back twenty years. But if it comes down to choosing between that association and Hillary Clinton being in bed with an agent of the Muslim Sisterhood (?) the scale measuring lesser evils tips very much in his favor.

If The Donald makes it to the convention and effortlessly seals the deal on his way in then it is proof of his competence.

Go for it Trump! I am hoping to see it happen.

Looks as if Donald Trump is working on #2 and #3 right now.

Here are Donald J. Trump’s core principles, published in 1987.

1. Think Big
2. Protect the Downside and the Upside Will Take Care of Itself
3. Maximize Your Options
4. Know Your Market
5. Use Your Leverage
6. Enhance Your Location
7. Get the Word Out
8. Fight Back
9, Deliver the Goods
10. Contain the Costs
11. Have Fun

Now, if any of the Consistent Conservatives had applied even part of this over the past 30 years the country would not be in the shape it is in today. Instead Consistent Conservatives have stood, marched, and yammered for “family values”, “small government”, “lower taxes”, etc., all while just the opposite happened, over and over again. One betrayal of principle after another.

If its Legal to buy off delegates, as Cruzdavidians have pretty much bragged about, then start buying, Donald.

Anybody with trigger time in American Corporate Life will sense what this most likely is. Corey Lewandowski is being shown the door. Not as abrupt as "Your Fired!", but it is what it is. Not only that, Trump is way late to rush and learn the delegate game. He as a leader should have forseem this over a year ago, and strategically planned for it accordingly--rather than suffer embarrassment state after state as the Cruz Team gets it done. But then again, the lower-downs on the totem pole will have to fall on their swords. Yep. Classic velvet-carpeted executive suite CYA ethics.

The outsider candidate - finally turns into an insider candidate. If he secures the nomination, he will become the GOPe candidate.

It's how the system works.

Unless he goes 3rd party.

Today Donald J. Trump is announcing that he is consolidating the functions related to the nomination process and assigning them to Convention Manager, Paul Manafort. In this capacity, Mr. Manafort will oversee, manage, and be responsible for all activities that pertain to Mr. Trump's delegate process and the Cleveland Convention.

Trump had better mean this if he's serious about winning the nomination.

Back talk says that Lewandowski has been pulling power plays since Manafort came on board.....which will doom Trump just like the power plays in Carson's campaign screwed the pooch for Carson.

If Manafort could get Yanukovych in office in Ukraine, he should be able to play catch up to Trump's ignorance about the primary process.

I don’t see it that way. Paul is what Donald says he is, the Convention Manager, not the Campaign Manager.

The Campaign and the Convention ae two different animals. Corey remains the Campaign Manager ostensibly responsible for all the operations of the campaign including schedule, logistics, personnel, security, transportation, lodging, messaging. That’s an enormous job and having to focus also on the Convention is just too much.

There needs to be a division of labor and bringing Manafort onboard does just that. It’s also crucial to get the right person like Manafort engaged because the Party of Romney and Rove have brought their lack of ethics into the mix, and this has caused the Trump Campaign to react in a way that should not have been necessary. Manafort will then run counter to the shenanigans of the Romney-Rove gang, and by association to their stooge in Cruz.

Manafort’s appointment follows on the heels of Trump’s meeting with the RNC where he confirmed they would not afford him the courtesy of seating his own won delegates. He has recourse in a quasi-legal process with the standing committee to adjust the callous attitudes of the RNC.

The RNC has been corrupted over a number of years and has been captured by some bastards that long ago abandoned the principles of Reagan. Thus, the Republican Party is no longer the Party of Reagan, it is the Party of Flies. Trump will exterminate them.

For now, the acquisition of Manafort is a fortunate and powerful addition to the Trump team.
