Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.
Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State — Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best — and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

If by uttering the phrase "New York values" it's understood by the vast majority of Americans that he meant "decadent liberal values" then I think that New Yorkers have nothing to whine about.

Southerners saw right throw his used-car salesman, Elmer Gantry impersonation and voted for a NY businessman over him. No GOP candidate has ever won the nomination without winning SC, then Florida, which SCruz resoundingly didn’t just lose, he was destroyed. No GOP candidate for president has ever won the White House without carrying Ohio, Florida and the South. SCruz will not become the first, even if the GOPe party bosses rig the nomination process and give it to him, after another candidate has won millions of more voters than him. Say hello to President Hillary Clinton if that happens. Name me the first democrat that would vote for Elmer Gantry SCruz. They don’t exist.
