Shock: Ted Cruz Takes Lead in Reuters Poll Over Donald Trump for First Time

by MIKE FLYNN5 Apr 2016

For the first time in the Republican primary, Reuters’ tracking poll shows Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% leading Donald Trump among likely voters in the Republican primaries.

This is also the first time Donald Trump hasn’t led the tracking poll in 2016.

Cruz has the support of 39 percent of likely Republican voters nationwide, just ahead of Donald Trump, who has 37 percent support. Ohio Governor John Kasich is a distant third, with 23 percent support.

In the broader survey of all Republicans, rather than likely voters, Trump still has a four-point lead. This, however, is sharply down from the 28-point lead he enjoyed in the middle of March.

Trump’s current support among Republican likely voters is the lowest since the end of February, when Jeb Bush, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)78% and Ben Carson were still in the race. Since the race narrowed to three remaining candidates, Trump has enjoyed the support of almost half of Republican voters, or 45 percent.

Trump’s collapse in the Reuters tracking poll began on March 26, when the GOP frontrunner topped out at 48 percent support. Since then, Trump has lost 13 points of support. He gained two points back in today’s tracking poll.

The Reuters tracking poll is based on a five-day rolling average of results. Each day, a new round of daily interviews are added to the tracking poll, while older interviews are dropped from the tracking poll. As a result, there can be daily blips in the poll. The overall trend, however, is unmistakable. Trump has lost a considerable amount of support in the past two weeks and Cruz’s support has surged.

Cruz accepted $250,000 of Soros money?
Doesnt this create some cognitive disonance for Cruzers?

one must now inquire whatever happened to that applesauce ARG Poll and the tabloid trash that many Trumpkins were endlessly wallowing in.

Hey now, that ARG poll was only off by approximately 30 points. The Trumpkins posted it over and over, apparently none of them bothered to look at the ridiculously silly internals.

[Trump had his chance to moderate himself after South Carolina. He chose to double down on the crazy.

Trump is not this crazy in real life. he needs to act like he’s a grown up and he can easily win]

Why would Trump do that? His goal seems to be to inflicting as much damage as possible on the conservative movement and making sure no viable conservative candidate comes out do the GOP primary.

The Cruz ship will run into an iceberg come November. Liberal media and money won’t be behind bringing down his opponent then.

Trump will be back on top soon.

After tonight, it looks to me like Trump will not have the requisite delegates to win. And considering the sleazy campaign Trump has run, and the National Enquirer trash posted by so many Trumpkins over the last few days which has alienated so many people - I begin to think Trump will lose to Cruz on the 2nd or 3rd ballot. I just think Trump can't win unless he walks into Cleveland with the delegates to be nominated, and now I doubt he can.

Trump can still get to 1237, the math is there if you wanna take a look. He has to win CA and PA as well as many others but it can be done. He can even plausibly get 20 or so more than that but it won’t be easy. Whereas Cruz simply can’t get there, he needs the brokers at the convention. I’d hate to be relying on that right now.

If Cruz fails to get the nomination, there is no America.

Cruz was the legitimate candidate from the beginning, that was why the MSM created Trump, and carried him through for free.

MSM loses! They were pushing Trump right up to the absurd limit tonight, not calling the obvious massive Cruz victory, even after they called Bernie with less than 1% of the tally counted.
