On Friday's Wolf show on CNN, during a discussion of whether Republicans can stay united after a divisive presidential convention, CNN's Nia-Malika Henderson recalled complaints by some Republicans that Ted Cruz "might not even be that much better" than Donald Trump as a nominee.
She and CNN's Gloria Borger were then amused over "Lose with Cruz" as a possible campaign slogan for the GOP after Henderson suggested Republicans would prefer to have Cruz lose the general election as the nominee rather than have Trump heading the ticket.

You guys need to think about this - it’s happening and they’re using you to do it. Plus Cruz knows it to boot.
-—If you believe Ted Cruz is not qualified, then dont vote for him
(he’s not, and I won’t)
-—Unfortunately for you no court agrees with you.
(and the courts agree that abortion is just fine)
(glad to see where you stand on the issues)
(btw, no court has ever ruled on him being eligible to be POTUS, only to appear on a ballot, but you knew that)
I prefer “Cruz to Victory”. Nice ring to it!
Yeah It is Lose Big with Cruz because he will get his butt kicked.
>>Ted Cruz will bring in Americans who love this country and believe in Constitutional principals.
Is that Constitutional PRINCIPLES before or after the 11th Amendment? Because there’s a couple game changers in there that wreak havoc on the plain vanilla Constitution and even the Bill of Rights.
Does he believe that the voice of the people should select the two Senators who represent the interests of the sovereign state?
Does he really believe that income generated by a citizen’s income should be taxed as a first fruit?
Actually, I prefer winning with Cruz.
Apparently, Ted is the stalking horse for another run with Mittens.
My guess is he and GB will make their way to Adam-Ondi-Ahman and wait for the Mormon “jesus” to return - to Missouri.
Does he even bring in evangelicals?
It amuses me to read over and over how Trumpazoids proceed from the premise that their guy beats Hillary when he is despised by almost two thirds of the population as a misogynist, blowhard, braggart narcissist and all round jackass.
In point of fact there is no possible candidate other than Trump against whom Hillary can possibly win. Her only hope is Trump.
And his idiot backers who may yet succeed in giving us all ‘Madame President’.
That is a flat out lie.
He had a chance to win, and more importantly, has a strong long game which will act like a safety net in a contested convention.
You guys want him to drop so your joke of a candidate can take the nomination with no fight, because you know Trump gets his rear handed to him if this becomes a game of converting delegates.
Not as many as he thought he would for sure.
Ted Cruz won’t even win Iowa, David.
I think that your belief that your guy should go for a brokered convention after losing by millions of votes to Trump and then hoping his enemies elect him over another at the GOPe convention is something I can list forty cuss words here over.
That is ridiculous.
It is a most cogent explanation of the situation that major-pelham has made, and the reason why a vote for Cruz at this stage of the game is a vote for Hillary.
Ted Cruz will bring in Americans who love this country and believe in Constitutional principals. His message cannot be broken down by color, race or gender.
Ted Cruz is the only Conservative in the race.
...(even though he loses)...
I love this country and Constitutional principles and Cruz will never have my vote. He and his NAU wife can take their campaign and pretend all they want. They just the newest version on Bill and Hillary.
The question is what can Cruz do that we don’t already have?
Utah has been solid GOP since 1964. Even Cruz probably couldn’t screw that up.
He’d lose FL though, and might even lose TX.
Regardless it’s pure fantasy because you can bet the rent he’ll never be in the general.
