Peter King: “I’d Be Embarrassed” To Talk About Lewandowski Incident If I Were Fields
buzzfeed ^ | 3-30-16 | Christopher Massie

Republican Rep. Peter King of New York defended Corey Lewandowski on Tuesday after new video emerged from the incident showing Lewandowski grabbing a reporter’s arm and pulling her backwards at a Donald Trump event in early March.

Lewandowski was charged with simple battery on Tuesday over the incident, which occurred between him and ex-Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, on March 8,

“This thing with Corey Lewandowski,” King said on Imus in the Morning. “I don’t know him, my staff knows him in Washington, he worked in Washington for a while. You know, before I saw the video yesterday, I thought he had hit her with a baseball bat or something. I haven’t practiced law in a while but I never heard of somebody being charged for touching someone on the arm, unless you’re talking about some kind of a sexual thing.”

In the days after the incident, Fields said Lewandowski grabbed her arm and nearly threw her to the ground, resulting in multiple bruises on her arm.

“If you’re in the middle of a political scrum, those things happen,” the New York congressman said. “You bump into people. Reporters put their arms in trying to get interviews, sticking a tape recorder in the guy’s face and pushing people out of the way. When she was on television describing it afterwards, I think she said it was the worst moment in her life, and how terrible it was. I’d be embarrassed to even talk about it.”

Not a big fan of King, but he does state the obvious here. Fields is a nut. She wants to be taken seriously? What a joke.

This woman tried the reporter ‘rush’ and got pulled back. She wasn’t assaulted nor was she thrown down or beaten. She thinks because she’s a woman she can play the damaged little princess, but in reality, the only way she could pull off feigning any sort of injury is if she were black, and that isn’t the case.

Being as Fields is out of work, maybe she is looking for a temporary job here and there - - -

- something to throw a wrench so-to-speak into the Trump Train Campaign !

After all, Carly getting 500,000 - - - just a bit of that would go a long way - -

Here is what Fields and Terris said after the incident. This proves Fields is LYING.

These are her own words, and the words of the other reporter who backs up her lies. Unfortunately, he didn't realize that what he said would contradict what Fields said.

Fields Statement:

"Campaign managers aren’t supposed to try to forcefully throw reporters to the ground, no matter the circumstance. But what made this especially jarring is that there was no hint Trump was done taking questions. No one was pushing him to get away. He seemed to have been happily answering queries from my fellow reporters just a moment before."

Terris, the reporter who is 'backing her up' said this:

"As security parted the masses to give him passage out of the chandelier-lit ballroom, Michelle Fields, a young reporter for Trump-friendly Breitbart News, pressed forward to ask the GOP front-runner a question. I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager."

I believe that reporters/journalists are only in the news to promote themselves. They use it, abuse it and misuse it.

She is one of the worst examples of it. She belongs on the trash heap with Stephen Glass and Jason Blair.....

Since she's a reasonably attractive woman, she's probably used to being able to invade a man's “personal space” in a way that a male reporter most likely would not. It didn't work this time though. It does look like Lewandowski snagged her, but nothing like what she alleges. I see some culpability on both sides, but the whole thing is blown out of proportion.

To my mind legal ‘battery’ isn’t called for, certainly. She was not approaching a news subject; she was approaching a Presidential Candidate under Secret Service protection.

Yes, he is a Super Duper RINO, but he is correct on this.

Please explain why you disagree.

To FR Cruz Supporters: Would it be possible for all of you Cruzers to start a thread or join in on an existing thread on the subject of the Fields incident, and let us hear you join in with Cruz, Levin, et al, in describing in your own words Fields’ innocence and describe the violent crime Corey committed and Trump’s responsibility for it or the culture that led to it? I am serious. Cruzers are very outspoken on almost everything else; I’d like to know that they get behind their team on Fields being battered by Trump’s manager.

I still haven’t seen video that shows conclusively there was even physical contact, much less deliberate touching, and far, far less, pulling her down.

And yet the Cruzers and the Establishment media types act like it’s just obviously true.

Delusional.

Peter King is, as usual, an ass.

An opinion may be mildly interesting.
An opinion with underling causes to justify its existence becomes a teachable or thought provoking moment.

Insufficient data...

What is interesting is under the same law, Fields committed battery on Mr. Trump.

It will be interesting to watch the behavior of the Washington Post. There may be conspiracy involved with their reporter Terris and Fields.
