North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper won’t defend transgender law in court

Attorney General Roy Cooper, who is challenging Gov. Pat McCrory for governor, spoke out against House Bill 2 Tuesday morning during a press conference.

Cooper said his office, "will not defend the constitutionality of the discrimination in House Bill 2."

McCrory signed the bill, called the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, last Wednesday after it was passed by the North Carolina Senate.

The law was in response to Charlotte's nondiscrimination ordinance that allowed transgender individuals to use public bathrooms of the sex with which they identify.

This is why all those obscure downballot races are important. I am assuming the NC AG is an elected position.

His job is to represent the people of NC. If he is unwilling or incapable of doing so then he is in breach of his oath of office and should be impeached

refusing to enforce the law is no biggie if you think it’s wrong.

unless it’s refusing to follow anti 2nd amendment laws in some places. refusing to provide abortions. etc.

It’s beyond sick that there is a question about whether a man should be able to use a woman’s room.

All patriots need to get up to speed with their 14th Amendment protections so that they can protect themselves from pro-gay activist judges and state officials.

14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Is that possible? If so, I agree. It may not be possible. Here in GA, it would take a recall election, which is technically do-able, but practically impossible. I know, I’ve looked.

Did this Cooper guy render any opinion on that woman from Kentucky (I think) who wouldn’t sign her name to the homosexual marriage license?

If I remember correctly she spent some time in prison.

The liberals are using this tactic, which they also used in homosexual marriage lawsuits. In some marriage cases, liberal governors and state attorneys general refused to defend their marriage laws in court, which then paved the way for courts to rule for homosexual marriage, due to lack of defense of said laws, and not because of any ruling on the merits of marriage laws.

This is the same damn thing here. This AG is going to refuse to defend this trans bathroom bill against lawsuits, which then can also pave the way for a judge to overturn, not based on the merits of the case, but on the lack of any defense of said law.

They can send him out of office by refusing to elect him governor.

They can insist the GOP controlled legislature impeach him.

There never was any question about letting men into women’s restrooms until Obama was president. Now, the left acts as if it is normal to let men impersonate women and enter the bathrooms.

When they have destroyed the rules of civilization, what will they do? Leftists are children who want limits set, and it is this refusal to set limits that is making them increasingly crazy. Spoiled children can never be sated, they always want more as long as you give in to their demands.

We need sanity again. Now that the left has successfully changed the law to pretend any relationship can be marriage, or to allow men to pretend to be women and enter women’s restrooms etc., what will the left latch onto next as the newest “civil right”? I’m afraid to find out.

I am from NC and saw him on tv today talking about the LOST REVENUE as a result of states not allowing their employeez to come here for conventions.

Screw the citizens of NC, it all about the $$$$$$ in his eyes.

The Charlotte bathroom law was nothing more than forcing normal people to participate in mentally ill peoples delusions about what pretend gender they are.

Why should this be a surprize? Remember what happened at the Democrat (n name only) 2012 national convention when they jerred by booing returning any reference to God forced by the chair into their national platform after they kicked Him out?

Bring that up to any democrat you know and they will call you a liar. It has never been used or refered to by the go along get along GOPES. But that is the direction they have been headed ever since then. They are Godless but to mention it would not be bipartisan.
