How Clinton’s email scandal took root
The Washington Post ^ | March 27, 2016 | Robert O'Harrow Jr.

Hillary Clinton’s email problems began in her first days as secretary of state. She insisted on using her personal BlackBerry for all her email communications, but she wasn’t allowed to take the device into her seventh-floor suite of offices, a secure space known as Mahogany Row.

For Clinton, this was frustrating. As a political heavyweight and chief of the nation’s diplomatic corps, she needed to manage a torrent of email to stay connected to colleagues, friends and supporters. She hated having to put her BlackBerry into a lockbox before going into her own office.

Her aides and senior officials pushed to find a way to enable her to use the device in the secure area. But their efforts unsettled the diplomatic security bureau, which was worried that foreign intelligence services could hack her BlackBerry and transform it into a listening device.

On Feb. 17, 2009, less than a month into Clinton’s tenure, the issue came to a head. Department security, intelligence and technology specialists, along with five officials from the National Security Agency, gathered in a Mahogany Row conference room. They explained the risks to Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s chief of staff, while also seeking “mitigation options” that would accommodate Clinton’s wishes.

“The issue here is one of personal comfort,” one of the participants in that meeting, Donald Reid, the department’s senior coordinator for security infrastructure, wrote afterward in an email that described Clinton’s inner circle of advisers as “dedicated [BlackBerry] addicts.”

I won’t go to WaPo to read the whole article because I don’t want to be seen there. It’s like going to Wal Mart. And I’m a Freeper, so why read the whole thing?

But from what’s posted, the tenor of the article is made to appear as an apologia for “poor Hillary,” just trying to cut “red tape” and do her job more efficiently.

Which is B/S.

Reid, the security official, wrote in an email on Feb. 13, adding that “each time we asked the question ‘What was the solution for POTUS?’ we were politely told to shut up and color.”

Perhaps someone should start an investigation into Ødungo's misuse of email.

President Hillary will sell what’s left of the US for a donation to the Clinton Foundation

It took root when Hillary decided to be above the law and the good of the country.

No penance is sufficient to make her pay for the treason she has committed against the USA.

It is actually a pretty good article and I learned a few things (I have followed this).

The main question that needs to be asked regarding the email scandal is this - would you or I be in prison if we had done what she had done?

The answer is clearly YES.

She placed personal convenience ahead of her obligation to protect our nations secrets. There is no doubt that foreign governments who spend tens of millions of dollars on espionage exploited her private server.

The “appropriate” payment should be execution after being found guilty. But you are right, it would not be sufficient.

There is no way I’ll ever believe this was a matter of “personal convenience”. That could have been had without a server under her personal control outside the control of authorities.

This was done to evade established law and to enable her to destroy information if the need arose to evade prosecution.

The key point is if ANY executive for a major corporation had done this, they would have been fired on the spot.
Corporations invest millions on IT to secure their communications.

An external email server is a security risk.

She is a Clinton so “rules are only for the little people.” It tells us much about her character and I think it also explains the lack of enthusiasm for her by the typical democrat voters.

I think what you wrote about her having control of the information is not in opposition to what I wrote above. I also think there is something true about mixing foundation and official business.

The CIA alone spends 50 billion dollars a year annually on Espionage

The NSA spends at least that much and the DIA is very well funded.

Other countries spy agencies spend similar amounts.

Hillary Clinton as Sec of State was one if the top 10 espionage targets in the world.

So she stamped her foot and had a hissy-fit because she is a very important person and too good to obey any stinking laws.

If either of us did a tenth of what Clinton did, we would be serving life sentences. But not The Queen; laws are for us peasants.

As far as foreign intelligence services, hell yes, they were reading her e-mails before she was. And I have seen a theory that she deliberately set up the server this way in order to allow the MSS and FSB and whoever to hack the server to get the information they'd purchased. That way there is no actual electronic trail showing she actively disseminated the material. Instead, it was like leaving it out in the open for them to come look at.

I know that's still a crime, but it can be sold to the stupid American public that "they never proved I passed the information along." And you know the FSB or MSS will never, ever publicly tell the world they were reading her mail.

Perhaps someone should start an investigation into Ødungo's misuse of email.

And there is the reason there will be no indictment of Hillary Clinton from the current regime.

“The FBI has accelerated the investigation because officials want to avoid the possibility of announcing any action too close to the election.”

Interesting, that.

To receive a pardon, does she first have to be convicted, or is being indicted enough?
