REENA FLORES CBS NEWS March 26, 2016 Obama Condemns Attempts To "Stigmatize" Muslims In Wake Of Brussels Attacks
With at least one Republican candidate for the White House endorsing patrols of U.S. Muslim neighborhoods in the wake of this week's deadly bombings in Brussels, President Obama is cautioning against such approaches, saying any such proposals would "stigmatize" Muslim-Americans.
"As we move forward in this fight, we have to wield another weapon alongside our airstrikes, our military, our counterterrorism work and our diplomacy," the president said in a video released Saturday. "That's the power of our example."
Mr. Obama called on the U.S. to "reject any attempt to stigmatize Muslim-Americans, and their enormous contributions to our country and our way of life."
"Such attempts are contrary to our character, to our values and to our history as a nation built around the idea of religious freedom," he said.
While he did not name Texas Sen. Ted Cruz specifically, he alluded to the GOP presidential contender's plan to police pockets of Muslims in the U.S., which Cruz has defended despite widespread criticism from members of his own party.
The president noted that such actions are a "counterproductive" approach to defeating extremists abroad because it "plays right into the hands of terrorists who want to turn us against one another, who need a reason to recruit more people to their hateful cause."

If Islam is as peaceful as the President says, wouldn’t we see the headlines where the moderate Muslim community is throwing out preachers of hate and violent jihad? A lot of these fundamentalist mosques are funded by Saudi Arabia. Wouldn’t we Saudi Arabia cutting their funding and publicly denouncing that sort of preaching?
The President and other leftists and Muslims need to answer those questions before I listen to them again.

Go way further back than 1972. In the 1800’s the Wahabists, marched the Arabian Pennisula to push the joos into the sea. They then had the House of Saud align with them or kill the House of Saud. Before World War 1, these psychopaths tried to commit genocide. During the founding days of our country they tried to destroy us. That is just in 300 years. They were responsible for the fall of Constantinople ushering in the Byzantine era. Since the life of their so-called prophet they have been killing romans and middle easterners since 7th century until now. This goes back way further than 40 years. Try more like 1400 years.
If they had to do this for every one of today's protected groups, a small sheet of paper would surely suffice. I mean, what exactly have the transgenders done for us lately?
