Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) blamed “Donald Trump and his henchmen” for planting a National Enquirer story that accused him of extramarital affairs. Vehemently denying the story as “garbage” and “complete and utter lies,”
“It became clear as the campaign went on that Donald was a whole lot of sizzle without any substance,” said Cruz. “When he’s scared, when he’s losing, his first and natural resort is to go to sleaze and to go to slime.”
Friday on CNN, a Trump supporter, Boston Herald columnist and radio host Adriana Cohen accused a former Cruz staffer, Amanda Carpenter, of being one of the five women cited in the Enquirer story.
Carpenter vigorously denied the allegation: “What’s out there is tabloid trash. If someone wants to comment on it, they can talk to my lawyer. It is categorically false. You should be ashamed for spreading this kind of smut,” she said. “I will not be intimidated. I will continue to make my thoughts known about Donald Trump, and I’m not backing down.”
Katrina Pierson, a Trump spokeswoman who once worked for Cruz, also said the story is false.
"Speaking for myself, the article is trash and 100% false," Pierson said in an email to The Post.
Trump, in a statement, said he had no idea whether the Enquirer story is true or not, but he denied having anything to do with it.
Cruz blamed the story on Roger Stone, a longtime political adviser to Trump.
“It is a story that quoted one source on the record: Roger Stone, Donald Trump’s chief political adviser,” said Cruz.
“The CEO of the National Enquirer is an individual named David Pecker,” said Cruz. “Well, David is good friends with Donald Trump. In fact, the National Enquirer has endorsed Donald Trump, has said he must be president...

Donald Trump isn’t the source of the story.
The scheming lying lawyer did not dispute the allegations.
Mr. Trump disputed Cruz’s whining allegations.
So Where are Cruz’s denials?

Somebody suggested on another thread that the only party that gains from a really nasty whizzing match between Trump and Cruz is the GOPe.

The only people suggesting that are desperate Cruz supporters.

Cruz is going out on limb by accusing Trump of feeding this story to the Enquirer. If he’s wrong, it’s going to blow back on him in a big way.
And that is why they call him #lyingTed
He looks demented and is acting it. You do know this was a Rubio Camp set up for the Cuban Mistress Crisis and in no way was it Trumps. But then dementia has been known to cause delusions and makes one talk about copulating with rats while Obsessing on somebody.
What part of “complete and utter lies” do you not understand? Typical for a Trumpkin to stare the facts in the face and still say they’re lies. The cult worship is strong in you.
Where to begin? Trump isn't scared. He isn't losing. And it's Cruz whose natural resort is to go to sleaze and slime.
I held off saying what I thought of Cruz for the most part. But I think it's obvious by this time what a sleaze he is, to all but the guys he's paying to lie for him. And, of course, the Republican Establishment who are terrified of being deprived of their pork and privileges. And Hillary, who is terrified of running against Trump.
Nice try, Cruz. I “knew” Trump decades before now. Not his style. It may be yours, but not his. However, now that you brought it up, he’ll likely help you drown in it.
ROFL...ok, you keep telling yourself that...Oh what a great time I’m having watching some people turn into preztels to defend this Lying, self righteous piece of garbage...no wonder his wife was found by the side of the road, if it was me, he would have been found in the front yard with a dent in his head and parts of his body missing!!!
