Rush has become such a tool. It’s sad to see. At least he says he’ll vote for Trump if he’s the nominee...all the while doing everything he can to undermine the man every day for three hours, all the while claiming no bias.

It means they are pragmatists. Too little too late for Cruz I think.

Cruz is establishment ... member of the RNC “new guard” since 2012.

FLASHBACK:

RNC to trot out new guard

Aug. 28, 2012

Tuesday’s main theme, “We Built That” — a reminder of Obama’s gaffe during a Virginia speech — will bring keynote speaker Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and Ohio Gov. John Kasich to the podium. Earlier, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell will focus on entrepreneurship.

(snip)

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who could energize Hispanic voters, will introduce Romney.

Lesser-known speakers during the week include Rafael “Ted” Cruz, a U.S. Senate candidate from Texas, and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, who with Cruz represents a new generation of conservatives with Tea Party credentials.

(snip)

Among the convention’s best-known speakers are Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the party’s nominee in 2008, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and former presidential candidate and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

With Rubio, Christie, Martinez, McDonnell and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley on the speakers’ list, it reads like a Who’s Who of rising Republicans — a changing of the guard, said Jeff Brauer, a political science professor at Keystone College.

Reagan was the guy winning the primaries and getting the shaft from the media, Ted isn't and Rush knows that. He's making an absurd comparison to try an look like he's not kowtowing to the same GOPe machine that was damn glad to be shed of Reagan.

I see no evidence that Cruz is a “conservative”.

Or it means that Ted Bush has been a high level GOP establishment insider for the last 20 years, his wife too. That is my theory.

I heard the show yesterday when Clay called and you could tell Rush was getting defensive and he was stumbling over himself for a response. Conservatism isn’t winning. It’s on life support in the GOP. Rush sounds like that football coach whose team is down 42-0 at halftime, and when he’s being interviewed going to the locker room he’s trying to sound hopeful even when he knows it’s a lost cause.

No, it means that Cruz is a Bush establishment stooge, who is willing to do their dirty work for them. Anyone doubting that should take a look at Neil Bush welcomed into the campaign, along with Jeb’s entire finance team, the Jeb Bush endorsement, the Romney endorsement, the Miss Graham endorsement, Bush and Stealth Bushes all.

If he succeeds in keeping Trump under 1237, they will give Cruz a ton of money for his Senate reelection campaign in 2018, but they won’t give him the presidential nomination.

No, Rush, it just means that the Wizards of Smart managed to back themselves into a corner with no other alternatives. At least in the short-term.
