Top GOP official meets with Stop Trump crowd.

A top Republican National Committee official helping to oversee the party’s convention preparations attended a series of private meetings on Wednesday with top conservative leaders – many of whom are bent on finding a way to stop Donald Trump.

Many of those there to hear Cairncross are seeking out ways to defeat Trump at a potentially contested Republican National Convention in Cleveland, going so far as to consider imposing rule changes at the convention that would hamper Trump’s ability to secure the nomination.

Those familiar with Cairncross’s remarks say he spent much of the time laying out the process of an open convention, complete with detailed explanation of the state-by-state rules for allocating delegates. He was careful, they say, to appear fair and impartial in his remarks – a position the RNC has rigidly adhered to as it navigates the treacherous waters of a divisive primary.

He also detailed the rules process, which many conservatives are delving into as they search for ways to derail Trump's march to the nomination.

Hard to imagine the once honorable party of Ronald Reagan allows a gaggle of sore losing schemers to discuss how to thwart the will of its electoral base. Utterly disgusting to watch.

We need to organize to get our guys elected as delegates.
1. When are state delegates elected
2. Does anyone have a list of when these state delegate elections are?
3.Is anyone here willing to be a state delegate?

We have to cover all our bases. We’ve got the inside lane but these crooks aren’t going to go down easy. If they think they can rig it then it’s up to us to make sure people are in those positions who are not controlled by them

Cooperating with an effort to subvert the expressed will of "The People" is not a "conservative" thing to do, no matter how it is framed by the "top dogs" of the Party.

Call it what you will, but if the meaning of the word "conserve" is associated with preserving the ideas upon which our individual liberty was secured and protected by a written Constitution, then the scheme currently being undertaken by Republican Party leaders has no roots in conservatism.

Cruz was my choice, but if he, understanding the founding ideas as he does, allows himself to stoop to accept the power of the Presidency under such contrived conditions, then his actions undermine his claimed fidelity to those ideas early generations of patriots were willing to sacrifice on behalf of liberty.

These supposed "conservative" Republican Party "leaders" justifiably criticize this President when he, claiming that because Congress doesn't do his bidding, he is right to bypass "We, the People's" Constitutional limits and rules. Now, they are using the same kind of twisted reasoning against "the People" who have not accepted their candidates and have spoken through their valid vote.

My question is, what are they going to do when Trump secures the necessary 1,237? What crap will they pull to stop him then?

I’m tearing up my party registration right after the (closed) primary in my state. I am done.

We need our own resolution - our own declaration - outlining in no uncertain terms that there is no way on God’s green earth that we will EVER support a contested convention, and that we will see to the end of the GOP should they do it.

Apparently, they’re trying to figure out when, where, and who’s going to pull the trigger on the gun they’ve put in their mouth.

You’re a day late & a dollar short. You had to be elected as a delegate at the precinct level around the time of your state’s primary. (Some states have caucuses instead of primaries.)

Delegate elections happen at multiple levels on multiple dates within a state. Generally, the first is at the precinct caucus, which is usually held the same night as the primary election but right after the polls close.

The delegates who were elected at the precincts then attend district caucuses at a later date, sometimes a couple of weeks or more. At the district caucuses, delegates are elected to attend the state caucus, which is at some later date.

The delegates to the state conventions then elect delegates to send to the national convention.

So, to steal a nomination, one has to begin at the precinct level. I know. I watched it happen in 2008 to Hillary Clinton when I participated in Operation Chaos. Obama stole the nomination from her that way.

And they don’t even seem to CARE that their tactics are so blatant, so openly opposing even a semblance of “let’s find out WHY Trump and Cruz are popular, have been able to defeat EVERYBODY who “we” supported in EVERY state primary so far. They are totally clueless, then come back with their excuse “But, it will be a “legal” convention with a 2nd or 3rd or 4th ballot choice, so “they” (all of the old GOP voters of 1992-1996-2000-2004-2008-2012 will just come around and support “our unity candidate” after the convention. Because “we” know so.”

They really are that bloody stupid, that blind. Sure, Trump has problems, and absolutely Cruz is better. But, Cruz didn’t get the votes.

FUDC.

And NOBODY else came close to either of them.

So, most of us thought Chicago style politics are bad, consider what the republican bastards are doing right in front of our very eyes. Every damn one of them, including the “republican party itself” needs to be run out of this country. What these crooks are doing is not the American way I fought to defend.

UniParty had decided. They want Hillary.

The convention is theater, unless they are stopped.

It is really up to us to raise some Hell now, and not later.

Later is too late.

“They are taking aim at their own feet”..........

No, they are pointing the gun to their own head and/or heart. If they pull their dastardly deed, they will INDEED be no-longer.

We certainly need to do more than sit around and wring our hands.

This is how we lost our country and got to this point.

Loss of liberty to corruption should mean more than handwringing.

Thanks, Yollo.
