Trump dismisses Cruz explanation in fight over wife's photo

Donald Trump on Wednesday kept up his attack against Ted Cruz by claiming the Texas senator is behind a recent ad showing Trump's wife Melania in the nude.

Trump first accused Cruz on Tuesday of circulating a provocative image of Melania from a January 2000 photoshoot with GQ Magazine. In the accusation posted to Trump's Twitter account, the brash businessman also said he would "spill the beans" on Cruz's wife, Heidi.

But the Texas senator said he had "nothing to do" with the ad after the anti-Trump Make America Awesome PAC took credit for it.

On Wednesday, Trump slammed "Lyin' Ted Cruz" over his repeated assurance that he took no part in the development or circulation of the ad.

Cruz hit back at Trump Wednesday morning – hours before the billionaire's latest tweet – during an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo.

"It reveals a lot about class, that Donald's instinct is to try to attack my wife and sully her," he said.

It's an interesting exercise to look into Malenia's political leanings, but she isn't going to be in charge of any policy decisions. In my experience, Eastern Europeans who escaped communism are never communists.

But on her own merits, super models don't get to the top of their profession by being stupid. The stupid ones are on the casting couch today and the trash heap tomorrow. Malenia speaks multiple languages, would have to be capable of being a gracious host or guest as Trump's wife. And Trump is no fool either, he isn't going to marry a pure gold-digger, simply because he doesn't want to keep parting with chunks of his estate in divorce proceedings.

The picture is provocative, but modest by any rational standard. As a Christian, I don't have a problem with it. As an adult I find it pleasant, but not lustful. The problem in all of this is in the reaction, and over-reaction.

I’ve seen Cruz supporters post the ridiculous notion that the Pac is anti- Trump not pro- Cruz. After listening to Beck this morning for the few minutes I could tolerate that kook, I now see where they get this ridiculous talking point from.

They’re all Beck kooks.
    Are they primarily
  1. Mormons
  2. Mormon Pentecostals
  3. Pentecostal Mormons
  4. Pentecostals ?

Cruz is right. It does reveal a lot about class. His class, of which he has none. Cruz should have immediately denounced the ad and said he would ask whoever put it up to take it down. He didn’t because he’s a sneaky ass lawyer willing to do anything to win a vote.

I actually don't think much of either, so we're in agreement there but I imagine that both my age and upbringing encourages me that if at all possible, children thrive by having a mother present in the home.

As to my dislike and distaste of Donald, he represents everything I have been brought up to disdain and "flee," i.e. braggart, crude, egomaniacal, narcissist.

I would never chose him as a friend, a potential husband for one of my three daughters (were the age and circumstance place such a condition) much less, a President, for whom I can be proud!

He well may become my president but just like Bill Clinton (I won't even mention Obama in this mix), I will cringe every time I see his face on TV

That has been my direct observation at the family Thanksgiving table.

However, having worked with several "former" residents of the Evil Empire between 1990 and the present - some of whom are now openly "feeling the Bern", it is my observation that, despite the availability of toilet paper, some seem to be pining for the old days... in the New Country.

The ad told the reader- Don’t vote for Trump because of his
wife.

Ads aimed at family members have generally been off limits.

Would Cruz complain about an ad featuring a picture of Heidi with words, such as- Do you want a first lady who manages corruption at Goldman Sachs?

What needs to be stated is that Kasich and Cruz have NO chance to get 1237 delegates!

Cruz/Kasich/GOPe have only three goals...(a) dupe as many voters as possible to deny Trump 1237 delegates...(b) contest the convention and somehow win it with GOPe backing...(c) somehow try to win back the Trump voters and/or get the stink off a FUBAR convention. And hope Trump don’t go third party.

How many pissed voters will the GOPe write off from this debacle? A believe it will be a noticeable chunk. Enough to sway an election.

Agreed, the entire strategy at this point with a brokered convention is suicidal. They know this and don’t care.

>>You cannot tell what a political neophyte will DO.

You’re right. We don’t. But he might just keep his word. We have plenty of evidence to support the fact that the career politician will protect the political and donor class. They will support the Cheap Labor Express. They will side with politics over us. As Cruz continues to come in second, we see him morph from “consistent conservative” to “political player”.

Trump has built buildings. He has honored contracts. He has met payrolls. What evidence suggests that he would stop doing that? When has Cruz ever risked his own money on a venture where he had to make it work?

What is Trump defending Melania from? From her GQ Photoshoot being seen by people??? Seriously? She was a model working for the Trump modeling agency. She has done nude modeling and she is much younger than trumpy. He initiated an affair with her while he was married ... eventually divorced his wife and married her. What else is there to say? Oh yeah... she speaks several languages. Awesome.... huh?

Yes but he also spent over a decade supporting Democrats more then Republicans. He didn’t change that until 2011. So obviously, Trump is capable of morphing as well, as he has done with many of his political positions.

The difference is that I know where Cruz has voted on the issues.

Way to keep it classy, Scooter.

Oh wait. Never mind.

Maybe you should head on back over to the Blaze where your, “skill set,” would be better appreciated. You and your basement buddies can drool together and make crude comments over there.

Cruz can’t win FL, OH, or VA, therefore Hillary wins. This is not even debatable. He and his handlers, the Bushes know this, so whats he really doing?

Correct. Thank you for zeroing in on this.

In fact, of the twelve purple states, eight of them are impossible for him IMHO. There are four possibly in play for him but they do not get to 270 holding all the "red" states.

He's got less of a path in the general than in the primaries. It is time for the Cruzers to answer this question! What is he really trying to do?

It is pretty much true that supporting Cruz is an exercise in futility whether you want to face it or not. He has a rapidly closing and tiny window of opportunity right now to do the right thing while he still has leverage.

If he really wants to beat the GOPe and keep Hillary out of the White House he must cut a deal right now with Trump. Going any further down this path means it is all kabuki theater and he is intentionally working against us. And by "us", I mean all patriots trying to prevent final defeat for our country.

If TRUMPS wife didn’t want to look like a Slut .... then maybe she shouldn’t have had sold a picture of her looking like a slut!

Yes, that demonstrates both Mrs & Mr Trumps values

I don't know what is funnier here, youngsters in the 21st century talking like Gilded Age fuddy duddies or 17th century puritans, or the fact that they don't understand that there is a world outside their basement, far across the pond where morality is an entirely different thing.

I would show you pictures of elected foreign leaders' wives ( and sometimes the female elected foreign leaders themselves ) in nude or near-nude conditions, but I'm afraid to disturb our youngsters "safe space".

They are far less fake-outraged than Americans who ironically jump at the chance on spring break to rush to nude beaches along the Med and elsewhere.

With the possible exception of our UK friends, there is a much less sexually-repressed Victorian moral-shaming self-righteousness. France, Germany, catholic Italy, everywhere. Trump's future wife was European. She probably drank alcohol before she turned 21. OMG! You heard it here first!

P.S. Trump's wife is not running for anything, she is not even campaigning from what I've seen, and she and Trump certainly are not portraying themselves as bible-thumping morality-shaming preachers. Cruzers behind this attack need to look up the word hypocrisy because it does not mean what they think it means, and certainly does not apply to Trump. It would apply to rev Jim Bakker, warning us off our carnal sins while banging Jessica Hahn.

Cruzers should also look up the word irony, which is kinda similar but not really. It is ironic that pompous self-righteous Cruzers who support the clean religious family man Ted Cruz are going in the gutter to trash Trump's wife who isn't even on their radar in the first place.

Then there is projection, a word that helpfully bridges the gap between the two because Cruzers get to project the alleged morality of their Saint Ted onto Donald Trump and then ironically accuse him of hypocrisy. Glenn Beck is a fine example of a person deserving all these words, and more, in a single sentence.
