Should Trump and Cruz unite with we the people against the establishment uni-party?

Posted on 03/16/2016 1:31:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.

If it plays out that way, I'll join you, but there's cards left to be dealt, bets to be made, and hands to be played.

There's way to many people just damned sure they know everything that's going on based on too little hard evidence and too much raw emotion.

I would have said yes a couple of months ago, but now I don’t think I can trust Cruz....especially after Chicago and now this Cruz Pac/wife thing. It seems he has sold his soul to the GOPe and I don’t see him getting it back easily.

What the hell, lets get someone from a State we need like Ohio.......lol.

Unfortunately, there is too much bad blood between them at this point for that to work.

Maybe before this copulation problem. It would be hypocritical now. Ted needs to withdraw now or sue the National Enquirer.

On the plus it would put the GOPe on the run and secure the primary. My only concern is that Cruz might not do well on the east and west coasts in the general. The dems will pull all the stops with the preacher thing and that won’t go over well with the voters on the coasts.

I thought they would get together, but last night it sounds like Cruz was working towards a brokered convention instead of working against the threat of a stolen election.
I think Trump wants to see if he gets his delegates and find a person that could bring in more votes.

I think the GOP would deny either the Presidency if they could.

I think Hillary gets Warren or Sanders.
I think Trump/Cruz would be good instead of great at this time, but if neither gets that needed number I am not so sure Cruz on a first vote could throw his delegates to Trump to ward off the entrenched old world order.

This has been by the GOPe a tyrannical election process.

"Cruz also doesn’t really add anything to the ticket to begin with." - Greetings_Puny_Humans

Jim, your suggestion would cinch the nomination. If it looks like the GOPe is going to try to take it from both of them in a brokered convention, then they would be wise to do that. But I think it's premature for that.

Trump is likely to win the nomination outright. In which case Greetings_Puny_Humans comment rings true. I got to believe that Cruz supporters are going to support Trump over Hillary or Bernie, in any event. Unless Cruz supporters sit home like spoiled children and let the country burn (or bern).

What does Cruz offer as a VP?:

Frankly, Cruz is not qualified to be President, and thus he isn't qualified to be VP. And he offers nothing to the ticket. And I guarantee you that Trump as a business executive is looking at succession planning and winning the general as the two key factors for choosing the VP.

And then there is the whole honesty thing.

Having said that, what does Trump need as a VP?

So what/who does that leave? To help him win, the VP needs to be able to draw more voters than Trump can alone. That means maybe a woman, a black, a popular politician in a large critical state or a popular businessperson with a particular draw.

The VP presides over the Senate, he can exercise a lot of power if he so chooses. Cruz knows the ropes there and more importantly he knows the staff who really right the bills.

People who write bills should be dropped off over the Marianas. All the cross references and size of some bills-TPP, 7000+ make understanding impossible for almost all.

You should watch the BBC series "Yes Minister" to get an idea of how Legislatures the world over really work.

It's on youtube Season1 episode1

Already elected delegates. This is out of my hands, especially if Cruz and Trump join their delegates together.
