I dismiss Trump on everything except hiring of good BK lawyers... He has a pretty good track record on that one.

The author is correct. I am most certainly willing to let a Wharton grad with international business experience negotiate with foreign leaders. After all, 0bama had zero foreign policy experience; his sole reason for adding Biden to his ticket.

If TRUMP is the smart, thoughtful, calculating and competitive perfectionist we seem to believe him to be, then it’s easy to believe he has this subject, of foreign policy/affairs/crisis, also covered. TRUMP is driven to perform well and to never be found wanting, but to know very well what he is doing before he ever rolls his game out to the field.

TRUMP is meticulous about timing.

Whatever it is that TRUMP wants to convey on foreign affairs is likely prepared already, subject to adjustment, but held in reserve, awaiting its moment.

TRUMP, I believe, is factoring in world events as they will occur over this summer. These happenings will direct his timing. By then we will be in the heat of the general election.

He will rely on coming world events/crisis to catapult his case for him— events that will call for precisely the positions he has been broadly laying out all along, on matters of security, military strategy, foreign trade— positions to important and complex to be cast out there like pearls before swine, in these debates run by jackals who are ravenous to tear apart.

TRUMP is watching Obama too, and surely factoring in that world events will draw Obama’s response, and TRUMP will be ready to strike.
