Police officer in Maryland fatally shot in "unprovoked attack"
CBS News ^ | 3/13/16

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. -- Police were going about their business on Sunday afternoon when a gunman fired at the first officer he saw outside a Maryland police station, prompting a gun battle that left an undercover narcotics officer dead and the suspect wounded, authorities say.

Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski said Jacai Colson, a four-year veteran of the department only days shy of his 29th birthday, died in the "unprovoked attack" outside the station. They posted a photo of Colson to Twitter.

They say he was an undercover narc....im afraid someone made him....sad RIP

As I also understand from several news sources, officer Colson was working undercover in narcotics. I also understand he was in plain clothes at the time he was shot and killed outside of the police station although PG Chief Hank Stawinsk claims that the attack had nothing to do with that and the shooter(s) just shot at the first cop they saw.

Could have certainly been an unprovoked attack on the police in general (by BLM’s?) and officer Colson, may he RIP and prayers to his family and friends and his fellow officers, was shot because he just happened to be the easiest target of opportunity.

Then again (and I’m not trying to jump to conclusions here, but just wondering), since officer Colson was working undercover in narcotics, I have to wonder if the two brothers (Malik Ford and Michael Ford) who shot him were dealing and officer Colson had infiltrated their drug operation/gang, and that they either suspected that Colson, in his undercover identity, was a “snitch” or they found out he was a cop and either way, they tracked him down for execution and in order to send a “message”.

If it turns out there is a connection between the Ford brothers and officer Colson’s undercover work, I hope it doesn’t turn out that they found out he was an undercover cop because of a bad seed, a rogue cop or a leak within the department. I hope if that is the case, that any leak is investigated and if any cop or inside informant to those who killed this officer, is flushed out and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Undercover work, especially in the narcotics divisions and in dangerous gang infiltrations, has to be one of the most dangerous jobs in all of law enforcement. Those roles are often filled by relatively young officers and often by black or “Hispanic” officers who can blend in with the drug gangs they are working to end. And bless those brave men and women who do so.

Officer Jacai Colson has been described by many who knew him and worked with him as being a young man of very high character and as an excellent role model for young men (and I would add not just for black men) and FWIW, his former HS football coach said that Jacai Colson’s grandfather was also a police officer.

In the army and police etc there are still many sheep.

I’m a sheepdog, though I’m a private citizen. Stories like this ticket me off because decency is under attack all over and what seems to be a good man died.

If this lawlessness continues, the thugs will realize that it’s not the law they need fear, but a fed up citizenry.

Thanks for your service, Sir.

There is a really thin blue line.

Prince Georges County, MD is some tough territory.

The pictures in posts 5 and 7 are absolutely jarring. One is of a fine young gentleman, killed for just doing his job. The other is of a mediocre golfer who has never worked a day in his life.

The Thin Blue Line just got a bit more thin.

RIP Officer Colson, your watch on Earth has ended.

You are correct, not a mention in our local rag but it has pages to devote to Trump’s alleged roiling of the voters. It has been constant the last four days....Trump said this and it led to that and blah blah blag. No mention of anything opposing these comments not even there is a quaint notion of something about free speech and the right to assemble.

Officer Jacai Colson - A Prince George County Cop Murdered By “A Culture of African American Child Abuse, Neglect & Maltreatment”

Cop Killing: More Evidence of African American Child Abuse & Neglect!

Sadly, this INTENTIONAL act of violence and UNJUST HUMAN DEPRAVITY offers more evidence of America’s expanding MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS fueled by OUR expanding sub-culture of *African American Child Abuse and Neglect* that nationally popular American recording artists and victims of Childhood Trauma Kendrick Lamar and the late Tupac Shakur REPEATEDLY mention in their music or speak about during interviews.

I hold ALL of AMERICAN SOCIETY responsible for this unjustifiable act of violence that NO DOUBT was committed by depressed, emotionally damaged “criminals” who as American children were HORRIBLY ABUSED, NEGLECTED and/or MALTREATED by a primary *MATERNAL CAREGIVER who WILLFULLY DISREGARDED* her parental responsibility and obligation to her children, as well as her moral, ethical, societal duty and responsibility to her neighbors and community to raise and nurture fairly or wonderfully happy American children maturing into reasonably happy, responsible teens and adults respecting themselves, their neighbors and the authority responsible for maintaining peace in all American neighborhoods.

I am not absolving Malik Ford and Michael Ford for the irreparable damage they’ve allegedly done to Officer Jacai Colson, his family, friends and community.

Though I am miffed that virtually NO ONE, including OUR NATION’S PREMIER PRESIDENTIAL & PARENTAL COUPLE wishes to address the dysfunctional family and community environments that are more than likely responsible for these men experiencing rage, anger, hatred and frustrations.

Not only are American kids being OPPRESSED and DEPRIVED from experiencing their full human potential, OUR NATION is being deprived of enjoying the potential achievements offered to ALL Americans by reasonably well adjusted kids maturing into responsible teens and adults who care about the future of OUR Nation.

It is time to end “America’s War on Poverty,” correctly renaming OUR Nation’s abhorrent expanding SOCIAL & MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS known as CHILDHOOD TRAUMA, to *”America’s War on Childhood Abuse and Neglect”*

Who are the responsible, caring, concerned, loving Americans taking meaningful ACTION to protect from harm our Nation’s most valuable, precious and cherished assets? Where are YOU???

I’m sorry to pick on moms, though since ancient times they are the *primary caregivers* we look to keep us safe, cared for and loved right from our start.

Peace.

Thanks for the information. I’d tend to think it was just a case of shooting the first officer they saw (presumably they knew he was one) because I can’t imagine that they’d be that overt about it if they were just drug dealers settling a score. I think they’d probably ambush him somewhere on the street or get him coming out of his home or something.

I’d suspect the brothers Ford had other motives.

I noticed that Jacai Colson was black, but he could not have been Obama’s son. Colson was a law-abiding American and a good person - nothing like the thugs Obama celebrates.

Dammit!

Round up the usual Trump supporters and Uber drivers!

Wait. What? The perps have yet to be identified as Trump supporters or Uber drivers?

What are they hiding!?

The police are now saying that they believe Colson was actually shot by another cop responding to the incident.

Doesn’t change who’s actually at fault, though.

There are a lot of bad cops out there, and the system is rotten to the core but without police the sheep would have to provide for their own safety from the wolves.

Let us suppose that I went to Maryland peaceably armed, as I usually am in WV, VA, PA, KY, OH, etc. Who would be a greater threat to my future health, safety, and freedom: the cops or the crooks?
