Donald Trump doesn’t rule out Marco Rubio as VP possible
Donald Trump doesn’t rule out Marco Rubio as VP possible ^ | March 9, 2016 | A.G. Gancarski

After another disastrous performance in four primary and caucus states, the candidacy of Marco Rubio is troubled.

However, he may not be out of the running for an executive branch job just yet, if the comments of Donald Trump on “Morning Joe” Wednesday were any indication.

“I’ve always liked him, and then he hit me really hard,” Trump said.

“I got along with him until a few weeks ago when he started playing Don Rickles.”

When asked whether Rubio would be a potential VP candidate, to help with the establishment and Hispanic voters, Trump was cagey … but he didn’t rule it out.

“If he runs and loses … he will never be able to do anything big politically in Florida. I certainly don’t think he would be considered by anybody as vice president, and I don’t think he could run for governor or whatever. Running and losing would be risky,” Trump said.

Then the question, reiterated: if Rubio drops out now, would Trump consider him for VP?

“Sure, sure, and he’s got a lot of talent,” Trump said. “I just don’t want to say that … it’s just not appropriate to talk about that until he makes a decision. It’s too soon.”

Essentially, Trump issued an ultimatum to Rubio: Get out of the race before the Florida primary. Or your political future is over in Florida.

But … if Rubio acts now …. the consolation prize of VP may – repeat, may – be offered.

Why tick off Rubio supporters by ruling him out now?

Prediction:

1)Rubio gets out (when doesn’t matter)

2)Cruz/Kasich ticket takes the GOP nomination

Trump doesn’t want Rubio dropping out, because Trump does much better in a multi-way race than a head-to-head one.

True. And why push away rube supporters who have come to terms with his path in this race? Leave them hope for a vp slot.

Trump is now astutely playing the Party Unity card to defang the dead-enders who are out to get him.

I heard the interview and he was saying “Sure Sure” to the fact that Joe was talking about Marco’s draw for Hispanics. “Sure, Sure, he has talent”

But, then Rubio would be the DARLING of the FR Trump supporters then, wouldn’t he? How can that be?

Head fake, IMHO. Trump is great at psy-ops, so here in the critical time before Florida primary he tosses out a few bones to the Rubio-lovers.

He’s been doing the same thing toward Kasich. He has even been gracious to “Lyin’ Ted” after his victories, which is like a couple of quarterbacks fighting like hell for the win but showing good sportsmanship after the game.

That would be a big mistake.

Trump should do like Obama did...choose someone savvy, but one that no one would want as president as VP. Like Newt, maybe.

Trump would be safer from impeachment and harm that way.

Of course my Newt would be great to have around, as he’s ver smart, if he didn’t try to enlist calista as vice-vice president.

The most dangerous pick would be someone the establishment likes, such as Rubio, orJeb. Trumps life wouldn’t be worth a plug-nickel then.

Donald Trump doesn’t rule out Marco Rubio as VP possibility.

Rubio is THE perfection selection as a VP candidate. After all, VP is a do-nothing job and Rubio has well-established bona fides in that department.

No Cruz is not going for the VP, after last night saying he now welcomes a contested convention then tells me he is doing the establishment dirty work and hopes he gets enough delegates to stop Trump.

FEC rules and regulations say you can’t announce anyone for any position until after said candidate has taken the nomination...

This is the media trying to shove people down our throats again, when it’s time for Trump to announce his running mate he will do so...

TRUMP is in the process of a pivot, when the opportunity presents itself, to begin to open the door to a proportional crack, in an effort to unite one by one all the disparate groups— the butthurt crowd, the pouty mouths, wounded egos and the creepy but devastated establishment figures, in order to move things along.

TRUMP will entertain the cacophony of the nosy and noisy media quizzing him with ridiculous questions no politician would dare answer, and give these fools the cramps afterward, as they try to make something out of the air ball TRUMP has just handed them.

TRUMP is as good with air balls as he is with grenades. LOL!

It’s very entertaining, as well as politically very savvy of him.
