Polls closed 3pm EST
23 delegates at stake.
I believe so...but they can’t vote in the Presidential election itself.
Looks like Rubio is doing well early with the all-important vote from Puerto Rico. How on earth could the other candidates expect to win in November if they can’t win there? Yes sir, this is an obvious game changer.
Dubio may not be Puerto Rican, but he sure is a Pesto Rican.
The rules in PR say that if a candidate gets over 50% of the vote, then he gets all the delegates.
It looks like Rubio is thus up 23 delegates.
That’s racist. /s
Sunday 6 March 2016: Territorial Primary
All of 23 of Puerto Rico’s delegates to the Republican National Convention are bound
to the presidential contenders based on the island-wide vote.
[Rules of the Republican Party 16(c)(3)(i) and (ii)]
If a Presidential candidate receives 50% or more of the island wide vote, that candidate
receives all 23 delegates.
Otherwise, the delegates are allocated to each candidate receiving 20% or more of the island
wide vote in proportion to the total vote of all candidates receiving 20% or more of the island
wide. Rounding rules are not known.
Delegates are directly elected on the primary ballot and are bound for the 1st ballot at the
national convention. Voters can up to 20 delegates and can vote for delegates of any candidate.

It’s a US territory - they are citizens and can vote.
Gente de los estados, no tienen tiempo para esas boberias.
If this stays this way it is good for Trump. Losing nothing to Cruz and encourages Senior Amnesty to stay in and keep drawing votes from Cruz _ not many but some -
Trump had no chance in PR since he closed his failed golf course down there, so any delegates he gets here are gravy.
If Rubio gets more than 50% he gets all of the delegates.
Did all eleven Republicans in PR show up? < /sarc >
I read on Politico like a month ago that Rubio has campaigned there heavily over the months. Him winning by a landslide was a foregone conclusion, but I am completely puzzled by his obsession with such a small victory. I guess he maybe hoped that, strategically, it would be an important win at this point in his campaign?
Who knows. Guess this means he’ll stay in until Florida for sure now, LOL.
He did, and he does.
Don’t know.
Already called for Marco. All delegates. For once he won’t have to sweat but he probably will anyway.
The Trump deranged will call this Latinos rejecting Trump lol
Puerto Rico is east of the eastern seaboard. After you comment, I had to go look.
Puerto Rico had a thriving pharmaceutical industry since the 1970’s built by very large tax incentives. It worked and soon they had 20,000 pharma employees. Within the last 10 years their governors and legislatures have let the incentives lapse, turning much of the island into a ghost town.
I work with dozens of Puerto Ricans who now live in the states so they can continue working in pharma / biotech. The liberals on the island skyrocketed unemployment, ruined their tax base and caused a massive brain drain in a few short years.
