Nothing new. He’s already admitted to it.

He only claims he will be self funding campaign and will take RNC money once he secures the nomination.

I won’t be surprised if he negotiates a deal with the RNC. You keep your money to support Republican Senators and Congressmen, Governors, and downticket races. I’ll raise my own money for the POTUS race, and you will henceforth support me 100% and stop all this nonsense about Romney, brokered conventions, etc. Win-win.

I don’t like keeping the GOP on life support any better than anyone else, but he needs them to stop fighting him and they need a candidate that can win and to protect the Congressional majorities - that spells n-e-g-o-t-i-a-t-e.

I will NOT fund the GOP.

I will fund Trump.

Good for Trump. He works harder than anyone. It’s not like he is trying to hide anything like the others in the race.

Trump and his staff have told some individuals -- including potential donors -- that as soon as the billionaire businessman secures the nomination, he will pivot and begin fundraising for a general election fight, the source said.

So, to follow Trump's logic, he's basically saying, "Fellas, I can't be bought....now. Sale starts in a few weeks/months."

Once the RNC GOPe smell money, all of the sudden they will support Trump, funny how that works.

I bet if he won the nomination and asked for individual contributions at his website, he’d set a new record for donations under the individual limits.

And he has said before if he wins the nomination, the RNC should provide financial support.

And while he is stumping for dough, the media will be doing their obligatory media dump on him.

From June to November - a relentless, never ending media, drip drop Trump dump.

And that is why Hillary will win if Trump is the nominee.

Trump doesn’t have the cash to fund his campaign and he isn’t going to liquidate.

So far he has not spent his own money, he has borrowed money from himself. The only reason to do that is if you plan on raising money and then repaying yourself. Thus, not self-funded.

Trump 2.0’s, “Not taking money from big donors” is soon going to evolve into Trump 3.0’s, “I’m rich, so there money is meaningless to me.”

Vote for Trump in the primary because he is not beholden to anyone - because taking campaign donations is evil.

When he wins, he will the become beholden to those making campaign donations for the general - because taking campaign donations will no longer be evil.

I thought Trump said he was self-funding, and proud of it, and that this is what sets him apart from those “owned” politicians. Does this mean Trump the politician is ready to be purchased?

But... but... he’s “self-funded.” “Nobody owns him.” One by one, the delusional arguments of the Trump supporters collapse, but they never scratch that nagging little cognitive dissonance itch...

In my best Breitbart voice... SO?

He has self-funded through the primaries, however, if he becomes the nominee, the RNC is obligated to support the candidate with party dollars and he should be able to fundraise at that point. This is a pathetic attempt. Would any other candidate not accept RNC funds?

It’s the whole reason they moved up the date of the convention! For Pete’s sake.

Of course. Idiotic to think he can run against the Unions, the leftist media attack pack the Clinton machine and the GOPE establishment in the GENERAL Election all by himself.

But I thought he was self-funding so that he wouldn’t owe anyone anything if he was elected! So if accepting donations means a candidate is “bought” by the donors, which billionaires will be buying Trump?

Sorry children. Doesn’t work that way. You don’t get to claim one standard for you and a different one for you to use on everyone else.

Wasn’t the whole self-funding thing one of The Big Reasons for all his support???? No one will OWN him?

But it won’t matter. It doesn’t matter what this man does or says, as he himself has said.

Every nominee gets funding from the party. No reason for Trump to turn it down.
