Establishment Unleash The Big Gun on Trump: Mitt Romney! (This Will Not Go Well.)
dailywire.com ^ | 3/3/2016 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 03/03/2016 7:15:41 AM PST by rktman

Donald Trump's yuge Super Tuesday win means that the Republican Smart Set have decided to unleash the big guns. The conversation went something like this:

Establishment Genius #1: "We need someone with real grassroots bona fides, a true winner, to come off the bench and clock this Trump fellow."

Establishment Genius #2: "Yes, yes, you speak wisely, good sir. Let me consider the possibilities. (Pauses) How about...Mitt Romney?"

Ted already failed to bring Trump down.

And your establishment overlords will fail too.

Winner on this one is Trump. Loser big time will be Romney. Wait till you see the side by sides of Romney praising Trump in 2012 and trashing him today.

In the midterm elections I dragged people to the voting booth to vote for our representatives and this is the thanks we get from our base?! Never again. I like Cruz and voted for him this past Tuesday but to me this is the most important vote I will be casting! A VOTE FOR TRUMP IS A VOTE AGAINST THEM!! Cruz would do better if he takes the high road and not get involved in this RNC vomit!! This is a travesty!

And yesterday Shapiro was lamenting Trump’s sad lack of character.

He might be a sinner in many ways, but as far as failing to mirror the growing populist parade that he is accumulating, he doesn’t seem to show much guilt.

Mitt whiffed; he came left of that. It underwhelmed, and Barack manipulated his way past it to the top. We saw swing state after swing state go Obama, and suspected Democrat shenanigans... but maybe this was more like Republican shenanigans, as in foot after foot being shot.

Worth another 10 or 15 points for Trump, the Mitt Romney rant from Utah, Oh Please.

Mitt begs for the status quo. Mitt, its not too late to cancel the speech! And not look Silly.

It's a Brain Dead effort.

When Trump started this effort, I thought it was a PR stunt and it may well have been just that. Now, it is time to relook at the situation. He could (and should?) be the nominee, so it is time to embrace him, not shun as some would.

The GOP reminds me of Regan in “The Exorcist”. The Priest is the populace.

The GOP ‘s head is twirling and spouting pus, feces, and venom. They want to control the body politic and won't willing let go.

Hey GOP, we are going to keep up the pressure until we expel all of that satanic rot from the host.

When the dust settles, I would hope that in order to save money to pay down the debt that they have created, we remove all benefits that are lifetime benefits for these traitorous scum.

Ted Cruz cannot even dress like an attorney, much less a President. He looks like a slob.

Comparing Harry Reid to a weasel is a grave insult to weasels.

Cockroach?

Blobfish?

Slime mold?

Maybe.

The media is focusing on the “Republican establishment’s” effort to disparage and stop Trump. However it is ignoring the Democratic establishment’s growing discomfort and fear about Hillary Clinton. Trump no doubt is irritated and will deal with the Romney and Rubio attacks. However when he directs his full fire on Clinton’s inherent dishonesty, corruption, laundering of bribes taken while Secretary of State through her phony foundation, and lack of accomplishment, the essential dynamic of this election will shift. The Democrats will face a debacle in 2016 and catastophre for their Congressional candidates. A weakening US economy will also aid Trump. Obama is also very concerned. He fears that if Trump is elected his commissars in IRS and Justice who violated law with the Tea Party harassments, the politically directed audits, Fast and Furious and other scandals will be prosecuted. He does not want them cutting deals, testifying under oath and directly implicating him. He may reach out to Trump and cut a deal. He will indict Hillary over national security law violations, force her out of the race and put up Biden or Kerry as a sacrificial lamb.

Are they that dense? Are they that disconnected?

It might be more that they're that arrogant. Think back to the banking crisis, when the upper-level managers including CEOs of the failed banks had to get bonuses of tens of millions of dollars because only they could save the economy? I suspect that they really thought (and still think) that only those who destroyed the economy can save it. They're just, well, better than we are.

Another thing is they always talk about how uninformed US voters are. And look how they're fighting back when it turns out that US voters are informed, and want to drive them out of DC!

I was thinking there was a recording of Romney doing just that...Trump can just play that and look at the camera and shrug his shoulders with his palms up and people will laugh their azzes off at Romney...AGAIN...

I think the GOPe’s threats to go nuclear on Trump are the same as their threats to shut down the government. Just a going-in negotiating position, or just for show.

Mitt Romney is thinking of one person, himself.

Not the party.

What a ruse.

If Mittens has a problem with The Donald, then why waste his time? If he thinks he can do better, then he should step up to the plate and run for President. Of course, either way he is putting on that bomb vest and going out to blow up the Republican Party.

Bye! Bye!

I’m proud to say I did not vote for Mitt Romney and I did not vote for John McCain and I did not vote for Bob Dole.

Of course, I'm Canadian, so I didn't vote for Nixon or Ronnie either Bush. But if I coulda, I woulda.
