You should have done a full mea culpa today, said you were infatuated with the thrill of eating with powerful senators, whatever, and said today that you KNEW you should have mentioned the meeting, that now you regret toning down the subject of illegal immigration and the bill back then, just because you were swept away by Lindsay’s eyelash batting. I would have forgiven you.

After listening to Rush yammer on about this...the only thing that comes to my mind is: “Me thinks he doth protest too much”
