Why America Needs Donald Trump to Win the Nomination
The Huffington Post's Huffpost Politics The Blog ^ | February 22, 2016 | Jason Fuller

Writing that headline shocks me as much as it probably shocks some of you.

There's no mistaking the fact that, since announcing his candidacy last summer, Donald Trump has been a loose cannon who has not only stirred up tremendous controversy, but has also shaken up the entire political process.

Trump has managed to alienate most ethnic groups living in America, insult women with his sexist comments, allow violence against protesters at his rallies, insult journalists and restrain freedom of the press at his rallies, and even now is engaged in an ever-escalating feud with fellow Republican candidate Ted Cruz.

I share the views of many, more moderate and even liberal voices: The possibility of a Trump presidency is a scary thought just based upon how he handles day-to-day campaigning. What kind of restrictions on Muslims is he willing to support should he actually be elected? Will he curtail First Amendment protections on free speech, the press, and religious freedom as his actions on the campaign trail suggest? These are very serious questions which need equally serious consideration by those considering giving Trump their vote in the upcoming primaries and especially in the general election.

But as scary as the possibility of the Trump House may be to the majority of the American public, there is an even scarier possibility hot on Donald Trump's heels: Ted Cruz. Cruz has managed to turn around a previously lackluster campaign by narrowly winning the Iowa caucuses earlier this month and is now trending generally second only to Trump in most polling....

They know, as Carter said, that Trump is malleable.

He/she’s in the denial stage. Sad. Maybe with time acceptance will creep in. And perhaps, some medication will help.

What medication is there to cure the Trumpies’ denial that their man is a liberal whose mission is to split the GOP and get Hillary elected?

Hillary won’t get elected if we all vote. If Trump doesn’t win the nomination, I’ll vote for our nominee. United we stand.

Reagan wasn’t a pure conservative either. A pure conservative probably won’t win in the general. A nationalist stands the best chance at this time.

Robespierre, Napoleon, Hilter, Mussolini, Stalin, Obama ...

All Ego-maniac power hungry, deceptive, populist, lying (both sides of the argument) ... riding a wave of angry voters.

Is this America's Donald Trump in 2016 ?

As a FreeRepublic (Class of 1998) patriot, who's posted many times applauding Donald Trump's ideas and courage ...

I continue to be "incrementally" dismayed at Donald Trump's demeanor and apparent personal immaturity.

How about You ?

How are we supposed to support a candidate who has a "Howard Dean Moment" once a week ?

Will a Donald Trump "better deal at this time (2017-2018)" cancel-out "The Mexico Wall" ?

Frankly, it would be GREAT if Donald Trump could "morph" into the "more civilized" candidate that he's promised to at some point.

Finally, let's consider General George S. Patton Jr. for a moment.

Patton was a fierce warrior against the Nazis.

That was good.

Kinda like Donald Trump regarding The Mexico Wall, halting Islamic Visas temporarily, ending Sanctuary Cities, rebuilding the military, and several other points.

But General Patton voiced his genuine respect to German General Erin Rommel.

"Rommel, You magnificent bastard -- I read your book !"

Does Donald Trump ever do that ? "No" or very rarely.

No ... Donald Trump rarely behaves like Gen. George Washington.

Indeed ... Donald Trump perfectly mimics the "Do ANYTHING to ACHIEVE Power and Wealth" like the 1880 American "Robber Barrons".

Ouch !

Kinda like the GOPe "bastards" who screwed Chris McDaniels in Mississippi in 2014.

Kinda like Hitler's Nazi Brownshirts who viciously attacked ANY and ALL who dared voice ANY criticism or dissent against their DEAR LEADER.

It's estimated that almost four-million Conservative Americans REFUSED in 2012 to vote for Mitt Romney ... considering Mitt a galaxy-class @sss-hole.

I personally held my nose and voted for Romney anyway.

But 4,000,000 America Conservatives told Mitt Romneny to GO TO HELL.

Donald "Scorched Earth Victory at any Price" Trump risks the same fate.

The painful TRUTH is Donald Trump has become an @sshole.

Kinda like a nausetating version of New York's Chuck Schummer.

This is such a Shakespearean tragedy in light of Donald Trump's great ideas (see above list).

These words will "certainly" represent a moment of "cognitive dissonance" for many Donald Trump supporters at FreeRepublic.

Film at Eleven.

There are those who say that Donald Trump is a loose cannon. He is not. He is a fully autonomous, self-directed mobile battle platform with revision 4 firmware. Boom! Another direct hit! Go Donald!!

Your rant has merit in that you identify elements of the Trump personality that only a blind man does not see

But elements are easily compartmentalized and viewed in a compare/contrast moment that can (not necessarily does) project a less than true (nor complete) picture of a man

We know SO much about Peter, Paul and Jesus yet, different elements of each continue to fill pulpits with sermons, many of which are not trite nor boring

All I am saying is that there has never been an upset in all things American politic like what is happening now and the ONE agent to blame is Donald Trump

I have NOT read his book (and probably won't .. not at this point in my life), but as a commissioned salesman of over 12 years, I recognize a successful manager that continues to win in SPITE of the "stinkin' thinkin'" most, if not all salesmen experience in a slump .... "it's the economy, the war, the heat, Christmas ..." whatever

I've entertained your thoughts, but I don't let them linger

When he gets the endorsement of The Huffington Post and Robert Reich, you know Trump is a liberal.
