Trump Only Candidate to Address 1,400 Indianapolis Workers Whose Jobs Are Being Sent to Mexico

During tonight's CBS Republican presidential debate, Donald Trump was the only candidate to address the news that Carrier will be sending hundreds of American jobs to Mexico.

The GOP frontrunner said that under a President Trump, Carrier would stay and "build in the United States because we are killing ourselves with trade pacts that are no good for us and no good for our workers."

Video footage emerged yesterday, which went viral, capturing the anger and heartache of 1,400 Indianapolis workers who were informed that they soon would be out of work, as their company will be sending their jobs to Mexico. The New York Post described the video as "stomach-turning."

The company representative tried to quiet the crowd, as workers of different races and ethnicities cried out in outrage and despair. "Let's quiet down," the company representative said in the video.

I have to lose my manufacturing job to talk? What about the 98% of the people commenting on this thread that are not even remotely involved with the manufacturing sector?

When one company moves, it destroy other companies providing product to that companies, secondary jobs. It destroy town and cities. Country is losing industry, R&D etc. Service industry won’t even survive.

Planned Parenthood will murder more than 1400 babies this weekend.

Trump thinks Planned Parenthood does ‘great things.’

And Ted Cruz’s self serving gum flapping will save none of those babies.

The surest way to lose the WH & Senate in 2016 is making issues like PP funding a centerpiece of the general election. Do you really want to lose? How many babies will that save? How does Chief Justice Obama sound? Etc., etc.

Please. Leave it at one. Because I am not accustomed to folks arguing one thing, and posting another.

From your link:

Cruz, who told Breitbart News that the event is a statement against President Barack Obama's non-enforcement of immigration laws, said he will be doling out medical supplies.

Why not? We sell our American made things to Mexico and a whole lot of other countries. All Trump will do is make other countries hostile to us as happened with tariffs just before the depression.

Trump should welcome jobs moving to Mexico since that will keep illegals from coming here for jobs. Big deal. Those who do not want to buy the air conditioners or whatever can do that. Most will want the best product for the best price regardless.

Beck has a well known history of saying he will personally smuggle illegals in ... he fully supports Cruz , which means Cruz will deliver

On the stage tonight, I think Cruz was the only other to seize on economic issues well in his tax answer, evoking small businesses and the path to personal and national economic growth.

But he didn't tie that in with jobs leaving the country...Cruz's plan would maybe benefit someone who wants to start up a mom and pop small business but he failed to address more manufacturing leaving the country or how his plan would turn around that exodus...And of course that's because it wouldn't...

The best solution is to fix the problem so that the companies can stay. When they leave, they stop paying taxes and drive thousands into welfare. The remaining taxpayers will then have to pay more taxes and the cycle repeats itself with more companies leaving, etc. It’s a race to the bottom.

And did you notice that disgraceful audience, which screamed like a bunch of teenage girls most of the night, sat mute when Trump mentioned the Carrier move to Mexico? Yeah, those GOPe jackasses really care about the working man all right.

Like watching a sitcom on tv...The actors say something that's supposed to be funny so the producers throw in a laugh track...So the people at home watching laugh along with the laugh track...

We're supposed to cheer the candidates along with the live audience and boo Trump when the audience does...

Beck is a nobody to me. Probably ranking lower than my next-door neighbors on either side, because I actually have met them.

and who pays those taxes?

The US consumer..

Will other countries raise tariffs on US goods?

why yes.. they will..

You need only to look at history and the lead up to the great depression to see what high tariffs can do for a country.

>>Uh, you mentioned national debt and trade deficit in the same post. That’s a red [pun, there] flag for me.<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Obviously the fiscal deficit (builder of national debt) and trade deficit are two different things; but where they are linked is in GROWTH. Growth of our jobs and particularly our manufacturing economy is the primary cure for both deficits.

Getting people back to work is also the best way to shrink entitlements, along with repealing Obama’s socialized medicine.

I am sure you realize that at some point, in the not-too-distant future, the dollar bubble will burst and those manufactured goods we are importing are going to get a lot more expensive. Taking aggressive action NOW to bring manufacturing and other jobs back to America, including both the carrot (lower corporate taxes) and stick (TARIFFS) is the best policy.
