Trump Has Huge Lead Over Cruz in Two SC Polls

Donald Trump has a commanding lead in the GOP presidential primary field in South Carolina in two new polls – including one in which the real estate billionaire has more than double the support of his nearest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

The surveys, the South Carolina House Republican Caucus, and the Opinion Savvy Poll, come just eight days ahead of the Palmetto State's Feb. 20 primary.

Here's the breakdown in the South Carolina House Republican Caucus survey:

• Trump: 34.5 percent
• Cruz: 15.5 percent
• Florida Gov. Jeb Bush: 13 percent
• Florida Sen. Marco Rubio: 12.5 percent
• Ohio Gov. John Kasich: 8.5 percent
• Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson: 5 percent
• Undecided: 11 percent

Trump beats the competition among conservatives, moderates, libertarians, independent and across age groups – and even edges out Cruz with tea party Republicans, 37 percent to 36 percent.

The results were posted by The Hill. 

In the Opinion Savvy survey, the results show:

There are lots more, but that seems at least marginally conservative, and definitely pro-American.

I think the thing about Trump is his experience in both life and his business. He knows how to talk to people, he knows how to size up a situation and that's why people like him....

There are many reasons I like him and why I jumped on his bandwagon the day he announced...sure my friends at first thought I was out of my mind, but I have kept up with Trump for years, read all his books, so I pretty much knew when he announced this was it, especially when he took immigration on right out of the starting gate....and he did take heat and so did I...but around August, my friends and family started saying that he was talking about what problems America has and with his attitude and showing as a world known business man, he could get the job done.

Because of his experience in life and business, people trust him, and he talks ‘to’ us not ‘at’ us and he doesn't sound like he's ‘trying to sell us a bill of goods’, he's self funding, he's not P.C., he's an East Coast ‘get in your face and say it like it is’ person, and people love that about him...

Yes this is a movement, a y u g e movement, and I have no doubt that he will be our next President, whether Wall Street, GOPe, RINO base, super packs, lobbyists and special interest groups try to take him down....Trump has the support of almost over half of the citizens of this Country, and I say: “Try to take us down jerks, this election this time is OUR election and we will decide who WE want as President” they are just going to have to live with it!!!

- Trump STRONGLY rejects CommieCore
- Trump proposed market-driven health care - i.e. remove state barriers that prevent market compeition
- Trump is VERY pro-life
- Trump supports E.D. as it is required for Keystone Pipeline and other worthwhile projects

Three words in and you’re already “taking the Lord’s name in vain.” According to the link I posted, that’s not a good thing.

And their claims are getting more ridiculous every day. Now they are taking words Trump says out of context and changing headlines on articles to make Trump sound bad. They are more concerned with Trump than their own candidate.

Dunno if it's conservative or not, but he wants to preserve national identity by enforcing border security. His fiscal aims appear to be conservative too, get rid of the debt, don't spend more than you make. He appears to be a strong advocate of the right to keep and bear arms, and he does not like the federal government having control over how primary schools conduct the work of educating our progeny. He's also claims to hold US interests in mind in foreign policy, which translates into strong military, judicious use of military force, and care for those who are and were in the military service.

On the social conservative side, you'll likely be disappointed. at best he is "hands off." But, ask yourself what affect the president has on domestic social policy. That is driven mostly by culture, local governments, and courts. No doubt he has the bully pulpit, but how much "social conservative advocacy" came out of Bush, Reagan, etc.? Not much, not any that I can recall.

Good luck on your decision. Vote your conscience. If Trump is not your guy, then don;t support him. You have to look in the mirror, at yourself and your own conscience.

Then why do you choose to invoke the name of the Saviour in a blasphemous way? Our beliefs guide our selection of a leader regardless of what our beliefs are. So while the election many not be a quest for eternal salvation, it is always an expression of that quest or lack thereof. So you have abandoned true conservatism for pragmatism. At least man up and admit it.

So, please differntiate between the principles of nationalist populism, the other Created Things called out in Romans 1, and the principles of Conservatism which tend not to invoke the punitive response, also described in Romans 1?

People are not dogs. A refusal to jump through your hoop in no way suggests it can’t be done. It can easily be done; you just have a knack, a gift, really, of making people NOT want to do it.
