“Somebody had filled your head with some crap.”

I imagine that somebody would be the Cruz posters I see on various forums and the words of Cruz and his own family.

Cruz’s problems originate on K St. and not in church.

Thank you for pointing out Trump’s 2012 comments. Of course, you are doing so on a website where posters used to get banned for hammering on the open-border issue. Times change - and so do opinions.

You profess revulsion at a man because he is a Christian who wants only to impose your own Constitution on you on behalf of a man who is a narcissist who wants to impose his ego on you free of constitutional restraint.

Also define God.

What kind of a stupid demand is that?

“Also define God.”

Right on.

Should a Muslim put God first? How about a Satanist? A Scientologist?

I don’t know all of the details in that deal, I like Trump because he’s beholden to no one, that’s another plus for sure.

But, as a business owner, I owe lots of money. I won’t finance equipment from my own bank account, because it doesn’t make sense to do so. Business has bad years and good years, and also in terms of borrowing, if I can borrow for 3%, while putting my own money in the market which will do 7% minimum, why would I invest my own money into equipment?

Borrowing rates are so low, I would be a fool.

But for some (not me), they think Trump is just as bad a Cruz on this debt thing. I don’t see it that way.

One is a personal loan, the other is a loan taken out by a corporation and leveraged against his corporations assets (which apparently, the lenders think is a good investment).

But, the only details about Cruz’s K Street connections are really just what I read online, and they would seem to point towards cronyism, but hey, who knows.

I don't want a Sunday school teacher, I want a Patton.

You seem to be historically confused about the nature and Christian belief of General Patton. There is another general who was actually a Sunday school teacher, Stonewall Jackson, who was certainly a fighter like as well is a fully committed Christian.

Oh... and there is another man , Ted Cruz, who was actually fighting against immigration while your narcissist Donald Trump who believes in nothing apart from Donald Trump was profiting by the hiring of illegal aliens on his construction projects.

I’m a Cruz supporter but it has nothing to do with religion. I think Cruz stands for economic liberty and I trust him with national security while respecting our privacy and liberty.

I concur.

I do remember being excited for Reagan, and I watched those debates that I could. I saw some TV ads, I don’t remember them, but I think I would remember if he was a thumper. Why? Because the nation was sick of Carter the Thumper telling us all how to be good Christians.

Reagan did not wear his religion on his sleeve. Maybe he talked about God after being elected, but he wasn’t a preacher. I think he had his belief, it was strong, it was Christian, but I don’t recall him making fun of anyone because they couldn’t quote scripture.

I think I’m a good Christian, I read the bible at bad times in my life (not as often as I should I guess), and have since I was a little boy, but I could not quote scripture, nor could I even tell you what passage came from what book. I don’t have to, God doesn’t give me quizzes on scripture memorization, and I don’t think he passes out grades based on how much scripture you know. I just don’t think you are graded that way at the end of your days, but what do I know?

I always got the impression Reagan was a good, upright Christian, without him having to tell me what a good upright Christian he was.

It’s funny, as someone earlier posted on another thread, those that always want to tell you how God feels about something, coincidentally has the very same agenda as they do! (and usually that agenda involves them making money somehow).

I know a whole bunch of God fearing people, they just walk the walk, and they are not going to tell you about it. I respect that. Immensely.

A kind deed without reward or notoriety is worth a billion deeds where you reap a payday of some kind. At least that’s how I feel, but hey, everyone does their own thing I reckon, different strokes for different folks and all.

“You profess revulsion at a man because he is a Christian “

Well, thank God I have you to set me straight on being a Christian. I guess I’ve been doing it wrong.

Who do I make the check out to? You or Ted, or just to God?

Ted Cruz is the consummate insider, life long attorney and politician. He has no right to take the moral high ground. Nor do his backers.

Ted Cruz is the consummate insider

Consummate insider? Born impoverished of a father who was an alcoholic, raised for part of his youth in a broken home, exemplary record gained on merit at Princeton, national debate champion won on merit, Harvard Law Review attained on merit, winner of many Supreme Court arguments done on merit, winner against all odds and against the well-financed establishment candidate for senator in Texas? Fought the establishment every second he was in the United States Senate.

Is this your description of a "consummate insider?"

Donald Trump starts off life inheriting a couple hundred million dollars, is that your definition of merit? Is that your definition of taking the moral high ground? What in Donald Trump's biography authorizes him to take the moral high ground on any subject? The biggest blowhard American politics speaks with self assumed authority on every subject but he does so without shame.

Ted Cruz it does not take the "moral" high ground, he defends the ground of the Constitution according to its merits.

I would not be proud to see President Cruz on TV every Sunday giving a sermon from the white house

What in the world are you talking about? Cruz has specifically said that "we're not electing a pastor in chief".

Cruz talks a LOT about the Constitution and the founding father's vision of our country. Why's are you making up this junk out of thin air and attributing it to Cruz.

Question: have you heard Trump even mention the Constitution? Smaller government? No, you haven't, because he hasn't.
