Heidi Cruz said Wednesday that her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was showing America "the face of the God that we serve" through his faith-based Republican presidential campaign.

Considering that the ‘new covenant’ is defined by Paul & the Prophets as the one YHWH (the LORD) makes with house of Israel (Ephraim) and the house of Judah, and since that has not happened yet, then what is this ‘new covenant’ with the ‘church’ you speak of?

Well I could see that more charitably.

It’s their opportunity either to do it or to muff it.

I’d say he is doing a fair job of looking religious.

But to show Christ would be to boost things into a whole ‘nother orbit.

When Trump talks about how he hopes America to benefit, he’s in more of a Christlike mode than when either Cruz or Trump slings mud.

"The most important thing I did was square the quote with the audio. It was exact. calm down.

Which quote?

1. The one in the article title? NOT EXACT

2. The one in your comment that she was "Calling Ted Cruz "the face of God"? NOT EXACT

3. The one where she said: "very clear to me that OUR FAMILY must be in this race. And it also became clear to me that WE are at a cultural crossroads in our country and if WE can be in this race to show this country the face of the God that we serve — this Christian God that WE serve is the foundation of our country" EXACT

Would you admit #1 and #2, are NOT EXACT and #3 is EXACT QUOTE?

The one who polishes his own halo the brightest is usually trying to blind you to their wrongdoing.
Like his public “apology” to Carson.
He didn’t confess anything, just said the words, like a 4year-old who has just tripped his little sister and doesn’t want any consequences.

A tithe is money given to God.

If I attempt to beg the tax man to cut me a break on how much I owe (based on my income bracket) by asking for an allowance in the allowance in the amount I gave to God, the government is in effect paying the tithe.

I hate taxes. I want to pay less (Cruz’s 10% flat tax sounds about right) but God placed this government in authority over us, like it or not. As this government demands you pay tax of X percent, you need to pay X percent. Granted deductions are a great way to be able to pay less than X, however I will not use it to pay what is due God.

That’s for me to decide of course. I bring it up only to offer and alternative to the attempt to immune the character and religious convictions of Senator Cruz, not to cast blame or point fingers.

Tithe what you are led to tithe. Claim it on your taxes. But don’t blame Cruz for NOT doing so and use it as an indication on his spiritual character. Folks who do are not aware of the entire situation or all the facts which are possibly at play.

The one who wants you to benefit and the one who is trying the hardest to bring that to pass, in the end will have the best halo though right now it is covered with the dust and grit of hard work.

Cruz has no excuse, with his spiritual background, not to be way surpassing Trump in what he is even TRYING to do. Why does it take a Trump to jump on such an obvious goal?

No, the government is not in effect paying the tithe.

It is forbearing from taxing you on the money YOU earned and paid the tithe with.

You talk the talk of “liberals.”

The quote I squared with the audio was the one containing the phrase "face of God" that's what stood out to me, and at first I was skeptical that she said. The audio proved to me she had.

I assume saying her "family" and her husband's campaign can show America the "face of God" is no, or little, different than calling Cruz himself the face of God. This isn't the first haughty thing Cruz has said in his messianic campaign.

It is a biblical promise that this is possible.

It is hubris to assume that it is going to actually happen, no matter what purpose they put themselves to in practice.

Get the difference?

It isn’t easy to show the face of Christ. The devil will at once try to stack up as many eight balls as he can against one who wants to do this.

It IS possible.

Talk about it should be humble, couched in the language of hope and aspiration. We’re all sinners and any goodness we show has to be gotten first from the Lord as an utter gift.

Look, I’m not trying to shove a thing down anyone’s throat.
It is just how I feel and have been led.

As far as it being the talk of a liberal, hardly.
I’ll give you a hint, take a look at the stuff which comes out of the mouth of Donald J. Trump almost on a daily basis.

THAT is the talk of liberals.

Not really. I believe God looks upon the children of Christ as Christ Himself. But that is God, and his relationship to our shared kinship with Christ. I never knew that could be true in the physical realm of time, but I'm no bible scholar.

Look at yourself; don’t deflect. You cannot hide behind Donald J. Trump at the judgment seat.

I have often said the prayer, "Lord, let your live shine through me." Is that the type of thing you are talking about?

To shy away from the call to be a witness is a false modesty, is what I am saying.

But it should also be worked out, as a fruit of our salvations, with fear and trembling, meaning it is an awesome thing — the consequences of doing it right and of doing it wrong are both awesome, but in different directions.

In general, yes.

It’s possible to see it happen, when one’s desires become united enough with the desires of the Lord.

But the moment we take a feather in our cap for it, it falls flat.

I read where Trump is pulling a negative Cruz ad, and is going to run a positive campaign in South Carolina. Haven't followed up or verified it, but that would be very promising to me.

We need wise, strong, principled, humble godly leaders, proven by consistent words and deeds.
Repeated public pronouncement of godliness is a troubling contrary indicator.
Ronald Reagan, we need you more than ever.

Your post is all that needs to be said on this matter. The overt religiosity of Cruz also bothers me.

I hope both start looking at this thing from a higher viewpoint than a mud slinging exercise.

Our past history is that mud slinging between the front runners, any of whom would be acceptable, just opens up the stage for someone mediocre.

In this case, we run the danger of Rubio becoming our Mitt Romney or our John McCain.
