Heidi Cruz said Wednesday that her husband, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), was showing America "the face of the God that we serve" through his faith-based Republican presidential campaign.
Cruz said in an interview with South Carolina radio host Vince Coakley that she would support her husband's campaign even if she weren't married to him because of his religious values.

Like many others. I had a lady on here the other day say she doesn’t want a president who doesn’t curse. Another guy on here said he doesn’t want a president who believes the Bible and doesn’t want Bible believers to pick the president.

Calling Ted Cruz “the face of God” is blasphemous. There’s no “getting pretty close to” about it.
“The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee.” (Numbers 6:25)
“Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.” (Psalm 80:3)
“Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.” (Daniel 9:17)
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (II Corinthians 4:6)
In the Aramaic targums, the Jews considered “the face of God” to be a synonym for the Messiah Himself.
Whether they realise it or not, these Cruz people running around saying stuff like this about Ted Cruz are themselves setting him up as an idol in the place of God.
