Bad News: Millennials, America's Largest Generation, Prefer Socialism Over Capitalism

When socialist Bernie Sanders beat Democrat Hillary Clinton in a landslide Tuesday in New Hampshire, he crushed her among young voters by a whopping 83 percent

Tuesday night in New Hampshire, 83% of voters aged 18-29 chose Sanders, according to exit polls. And those voters were a full one-fifth of the electorate.

Sander's message of "income inequality" (Hillary has one too, but her Wall Street ties and personal wealth make it transparent) is popular with young people drowning in student loan debt (thanks to liberals proclaiming college is for everyone and by promoting the purchase of worthless degrees without the prospect of future employment) and those who have sympathy for occupy wall street. The sympathy also comes after 40 years of liberal indoctrination in public education, starting at kindergarten and ending in PhD programs, imposed by Marxists posing as teachers.

Sanders sat down with Late Show host Stephen Colbert earlier this week, which is widely viewed by young people, to talk about his New Hampshire victory. Bernie Sanders Explains Why He’s Different From Trump

Although Sanders excites young people, the reason they do is sobering. According to analysis in the Washington Post, a majority of millennials now view socialism as preferable to capitalism. Keep in mind the millennial generation is 83 million people strong and the largest generation ever produced. Millennials outnumber Baby Boomers by nearly 10 million.

In a recent YouGov survey, respondents were asked whether they had a "favorable or unfavorable opinion" of socialism and of capitalism. Below are the results of their answers, broken down by various demographic groups.

As you can see, overall, 52 percent expressed a favorable view of capitalism, compared with 29 percent for socialism. Republicans, those in families earning more than $100,000, and people age 65-plus had an especially high regard for capitalism compared with socialism, but respondents in almost every demographic category demonstrated the same preference to some degree.

There were just two exceptions to this pattern: Democrats rated socialism and capitalism equally positively (both at 42 percent favorability). And respondents younger than 30 were the only group that rated socialism more favorably than capitalism (43 percent vs. 32 percent, respectively).

The other problem here is millennials have no idea what socialism actually is or what living under socialism feels like. Over to you, Greg Gutfeld: Greg Gutfeld's Socialism 101 Class

Free-market conservatives have a lot of work to do, not just on the campaign trail, but in the education system to reverse this trend.

They’ve been raised as idiots, unfortunately.

Prefer Socialism Over Capitalism

Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again. Ronald Reagan

Pity the poor misguided young souls who will have to learn this the hard way and pity those of us who long ago learned this valuable lesson.

Their first mistake is in mistaking Socialism as an economic form and Capitalism as a government form.

Here in NJ they would both be voting Democrat (if she is a public school teacher); the Democratic Party is the wholly-owned political arm of the teachers’ unions. In NJ the property tax-paying private-sector employees (Republicans) are pitted against the government workers and gibsmedats (Democrats).

“So, they prefer something they’ve never lived under?”

Even some who lived under collectivistic rule prefer it. In 2003 I was deployed to Uzbekistan, once part of the USSR. I met several young Uzbek women in their early 20’s who were but children in 1991 when the Soviet Union fell.

Every one of these young Uzbyechkas was nostalgic for communism where “everyone had a job, food was cheap, and annual vacations were free”.

One gal with waist length hair looked me in the eye and said in perfect English, “I want you to know one thing: I admire Josef Stalin!”

So yes, our Millenials probably think that Comrade Bernie’s brand of socialism will solve all of their problems. I invite you to listen to “Royals” by Lorde; it is practically the Millenial national anthem.

So, a student gets and “A” in class and another gets a “D” in the same class..... The socialistic professors solution is to make it fair for all students so using the “equality” theorem they both get a “C”. If you were the "A" student, do you think that is fair? That my friends is a simple explanation of socialism. Equality for all.

Shouldn't "millennial" read "LOSER"?

It seems that they do not know what socialism is! here is their definition.

To be fair, the first thing Millenials want was government intervention in key areas. They also wanted higher minimum wages, a form of public health care, and more taxes on the wealthy. However, more than 73 percent wanted to privatize social security, 64 percent want to reduce spending because it would supposedly help the economy, and 59 percent say reducing taxes will help the economy. Oh and I forgot to say that 57 percent want a smaller government providing fewer services and lower taxes.

"So, they prefer something they have never lived under?

And the parents and grandparents of Millennials also came up with wonderful capitalistic (sarcasm) programs such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credit, Unemployment Insurance, Food Stamps, Housing Assistance, Corporate Bailouts, etc.. One can argue that America has been a de-facto socialist country since 1933. Instead of laughing at feeling the Bern, we should fear the Bern as his election and implementation of his programs are not so far fetched.

Why can’t the class room be moved to the Internet to lower costs. There are some doing that but not enough. Why not require publicly funded colleges to do more in this?

How easy it is to disparage the younger generation, although most of the people who do so sent their children to public schools, and paid for their college tuition. Partaking of welfare in the first instance, complicit in socialist indoctrination in the second instance.

Socialists see what is happening and call it Capitalsim.

Capitalists see exactly the same thing and call it Socialism.

Corporatism, the arch-enemy of Capitalism is a third economic system in our mixed economy. Corporatism is growing, mostly at the expense of capitalism.

Socialists see the evils of Corporatism. But Socialists are economically ignorant. So they mistakenly blame the evil on Capitalism
