This is a story which has cropped up in the past, but it's making the rounds again this month. Donald Trump gave an interview to the French magazine Valleurs Actuelles this month where he weighed in on how their nation has seen better days.
Both the country and its capital were criticized for sagging a bit in the modern era. Saying, "France isn't what it was" during his comments, Trump noted that the country might be in better shape if the citizens had the right to keep and bear arms.
For evidence, the man who the Weekly Standard just described as being in the driver's seat on the way to the nomination, cited the recent terror attacks and noted that he's always ready for action and that things might have gone differently if he'd been there.

I see he owns one of the finest handguns in the world. A Sig Sauer. By the tone of the article I assume it is a P-220 Carry in 45. Way to go Donald but be careful. The Communist Administration in NYC may revoke your license just because.

You _CAN_ get a handgun carry permit in NYC and DC. Expensive, wrapped tight with red tape, and subject to arbitrary denial ... but if you have the money, time, and influence you can get it.
Neither do I. Since Trump supporters are so fond of referring to his book “Art of the Deal”, I thought a reference to a later book - 13 years later, in 2000 - would be appropriate. Here’s what The Donald said about gun control in “The America We Deserveâ€:
