Premature or prophetic? While analysts tried to figure out who had a "ticket" coming out of New Hampshire, Ted Cruz told Salem's Mike Gallagher that only two tickets exist -- at least in first class. With a win in Iowa and a surprising third-place finish last night, Cruz warned the Republican Party that he's the only one in the field who can dethrone Trump:
"South Carolina historically has played a critical role picking presidents. And I think Iowa and New Hampshire perform an incredibly important function in narrowing the field and in many ways this field is becoming a two-person race between me and Donald Trump," the Texas senator said on the Mike Gallagher Show Wednesday. "What Iowa and New Hampshire demonstrate is that the only person in this field who can beat Donald Trump is me. The other candidates are not able to beat Donald Trump."

I like Cruz more and more because I see his solid Constitutional conservative principles more and more. BUT, this is too early to call.

Yes, I would agree. By deduction. As hard as FOX (Murdoch and his chorus line) is trying to derail Trump, they are living the lie that the American public majority wants an establishment candidate....which we already know is false and proven so. Multiple times and ways.
I think it will get down to Trump versus Cruz.

Cruz can win better than Trump can. Cruz is a true conservative and Trump is a generalizing with superlatives flip-flopper.
Didn’t everyone made a big deal about Obama and where he was born? All I know Cruz was born in Canada. I once wanted to run for the Presidency but I was born on foreign soil from one American parent and one naturalized US citizen so based on my understanding of the constitution I was not eligible. Now all of a sudden it all changed?
Trump is my choice.
Cruz stood up against stuff and got so far nothing done in office, can’t even get enough support for one law he wrote and got passed.
Trump isn’t a pol, but his list of saving his city many times is well known, his helping people keep their houses, pay medical bill and being a philanthropist raising money for hospitals, many other institutions very well founded.
Trump is a doer, internationally his building has left a legacy that will live well into this century.
We could use someone who gets things done, knows finance and had made amazing deals nobody thought possible.
Don’t waste a vote on Cruz the GOP establishment will never let him get the nomination.
Cruz is a true constitutional conservative and Trump is a bully and a con man. He said himself, “I can change into anything I want to be.”
Real clear politics seems to be selective on the polls they omit.
At one point I was really on board that band-wagon.
Lost that itch several months back.
Maybe Trump can appoint him to a good position.
Cruz sponsored one bill that got passed into law.
A constitutional Conservative who can’t get elected, steals votes by lying and intimidates voters sending out unconstituional Vote shaming letters.
He doesn’t even respect the ballot box.
I can’t imagine why you think people will vote for a conservative, given all the things that are going on in this country.

How old are these polls ? Then we have three dedicated Trump hating organizations .with poor polling reputations .Fox is the worst but QU and NBC ... please . Cruz has no crossover appeal .
