It’s Official — Young Voters Have a Higher Opinion of Socialism than Capitalism
U.S. Uncut ^

Bernie Sanders’ campaign has finally threatened Hillary Clinton’s winning margin enough that the mainstream media can no longer ignore him. However, much of the their discussion on Sanders still revolves around asking the same, tired question: Is America ready to elect a socialist?

Putting aside the tired refrain that Bernie’s actually a Democratic Socialist — which Sanders and Larry David joked on SNL last weekend is a “huuuuuge difference” — recent polls actually have some surprising things to say about American’s attitudes towards socialism, suggesting that “socialism” is not quite as toxic of a word as the media seems to think. Indeed, many people are starting to openly and passionately embrace it.

Take a look at the results from a recent survey by YouGov. Respondents were asked whether they had a “favorable or unfavorable opinion” of socialism and capitalism. The results of one key demographic may surprise you.

As you can see, the majority of young people under 30 actually support socialism MORE than capitalism by a fairly large margin — 43 to 32 percent. More surprisingly, Democrats in general are split equally, with both socialism and capitalism being rated at 42% favorability each.

The only demographics in which socialism trails capitalism by significant margins are, predictably, among more affluent families, people older than 65, and Republicans.

Furthermore, a Gallup poll from last year asked people to vote on whether they’d be willing to vote for a president if the candidate was female, gay, atheist, etc. Notice how as the demographics get younger, people are more likely to vote for a socialist president.

That explains the NH results as does this:

Newsmax analyzed the data and here is some key takeaways:
Only 55 percent of Republican primary voters identified themselves as “Republican,” 42 percent declaring they were “independents,” and 3 percent saying they were “Democrats.”
Donald Trump pulled a disproportionate number of voters – 45 percent – who said their highest education was high school or less.
Trump underperformed with voters holding a postgraduate degree – pulling just 20 percent of that vote, compared to John Kasich, who pulled 21 percent of that group.
Trump did much better among voters who never graduated college, grabbing 38 percent of this group, to 27 percent of college graduates who voted for him.

The extremists long ago realized that controlling the curriculum was critical to proliferation socialism. These youths are the third generation indoctrinated into socialism in government schools. So there is little resistance at home to the stupidity and envy the hear every day.

When these DemonRAT supporters are told their candidates are socialists, and they continue to support them, what are we to think? Are there that many ignorant people? What do they think a socialist is? Are they just some happy-go-lucky people who are very social and get along with people? Are they people who like to party and have a beer with?

A socialist politician should be a red flag that cautions people that they are not good for a free people and a prosperous nation. People are selling their souls to the devil or, more appropriately, selling their mothers (and America) down the river.

No, TigerClaws, they've gone full brain washed. This is what happens when we don't pay attention to what is being taught in our schools.

No. Each of us needs to be kind with the young voters in our acquaintance, agree that the Berntopia sounds great, and then explain how it’s been tried a lot and alway, 100% of the time, failed. Explain why. Human nature. Get them to read or watch Atlas Shrugged.

Be nice and teach. They don’t have the history we do with 20th century communism and socialism.

“Be nice and teach. They don’t have the history we do with 20th century communism and socialism.”

Or beat them until they see the point. The opposite of irrationality is not reason but force.

The problem is these people have no idea what socialism or capitalism is. They haven’t been taught anything near the truth about it. And this is the least rebellious generation to have ever occurred.

i don’t think our youth are “stupid.” what they see all around them is—not free enterprise—but leftist crony capitalism—which jibes perfectly with what they’ve been taught in their marxist indoctrination camps (federal schools).

they’re not experienced enough (or they are denied the experience and knowledge necessary) to understand that crony capitalism comes, ironically, from very attempts of leftists in the ruling elite to use their ignorance to grab more by money for themselves by redistributing wealth.

Unfortunately not surprising, seeing how we left progressive liberals Eff up Everything without a prolonged vicious fight.
I see corrupt thought and culture within a whole age and demographic range.
It is ALL the fault of we who plainly know better.

Conservatives have been grossly negligent to effectively develop a message and delivery to keep liberal progressives from dominating education, media, and entertainment.
We let compromised neo-cons represent us, and create the corrupt crony capitalism mess we’re in that really is screwing over most people.
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
We have been living apathetically in our conservative echo chamber.
Obama has won. Eat your peas.

I cannot remember the last time I heard a so called “conservative” teach about and defend free market capitalism, like leading up to the election of Reagan.

PBS had a series by Dr. Milton Friedman in 1980 called “Free to Choose.” And a book by the same title.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_to_Choose

The political center-right has misused the language for so long. Terms are meaningless. Words like “liberal” and “socialist” are thrown around so much that they hardly carry negative meanings, outside hardcore conservatives, who number only a minority.

The Truth is both the US and Sweden have “mixed economies,” with Sweden having a slightly larger government owned/controlled percent. Both have very high ranking, for GDP per capita, and for personal freedom.

Bernie will say “what is wrong with Sweden, Denmark, etc.?”

What will our “conservatives” say about that?

Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Christie have worked for government their entire careers, BTW.

Who can sell undecided voters, on the benefits and advantages of free market capitalism?

I think I would place my money on Trump.
