New Trump ad slams Cruz as the 'worst kind of Washington insider'
CNN Politics ^ | February 9, 2016 | Theodore Schleifer, CNN

Donald Trump is launching an offensive against Ted Cruz in South Carolina, calling him the "worst kind of Washington insider" in a wide-ranging attack ad that paints him as dishonest, unsavory and inconsistent.

Cruz and Trump have both labored to position themselves as the race's outsiders, a claim that Trump looks to rebut in the new South Carolina spot.

"What kind of man talks from both sides of his mouth on amnesty for illegals on national television -- and still denies it?" a narrator says in the advertisement. "Who took more than a million dollars in sweetheart loans from Wall Street banks, and fails to disclose it as required by law? Who runs a campaign accused of dirty tricks, and tried to sabotage Ben Carson with false rumors?"

Those claims by the Trump ad reference Cruz's failure to not properly report loans he received during his 2012 Senate campaign and alleged misconduct by his campaign toward Carson on the night of the Iowa caucuses. Cruz has admitted he made mistakes on both charges.

"Ted Cruz -- the worst kind of Washington insider, who just can't be trusted," the spot concludes.

The ad, captured by advertising tracker CMAG/Kantar Media, began airing in the Greenville, South Carolina, media market on Monday evening, the night before the New Hampshire primary.

Cruz and Trump are expected to compete for top billing in South Carolina, a state that Cruz's campaign has identified as the rubber match between the two likely winners of the first two early voting states, Iowa and New Hampshire. Cruz beat Trump in Iowa, and Trump is expected to win in Tuesday's Granite State contest...

SC is going to be the TRUMP and CRUZ battleground. NH is the state of Moderates and insiders but I do not think a GOPe guy will emerge as a third contender because they have all beat the hell out of each other.

Did Cruz really fail to disclose GS loans that he was required to disclose and why? Getting a loan from a bank is American as apple pie, but failure to disclose as required? Really? I think Cruz would probably be more bold than Trump on certain issues. But I’d like to see proof of the loan issue, rather than, “I could have been more forthcoming.... I’m sorry.”

Everyone knows Ted Cruz is leading the charge against the corrupt bi-partisan Washington Cartel.

Is that why the latest pro-CRuz/anti-Trump PAC is headed up by former Mitch McConnell attorney/COC affiliated, Eric Lycan???

Who is anonymous donating hundreds of thousands of dollars in laundered money to a Cruz Super PAC? Principled Conservatives (TM) have a right to know the answer to that question before we cast our ballots.

Yeah because everyone knows how much Mitchee loves Cruz, oh wait it was your trumpee who donated to his bosom buddy Mitchee.

You are sounding like as big a clown as your precious trumpee.

I see Rafael Edward Cruz as a Washington insider. Perhaps you see him as a modern day Don Quixote ?

The recently breaking story of large anonymous, money laundered donations to Cruz’s Super PAC is even more troubling than the GS loan issue.

There are many legitimate routes Trump could take with Cruz, but this is simply a lie and makes me realize I would never support Trump, even in the general election.

One could conclude that Trump really was disgusted with the Cruz campaign dirty tricks.

One thing for sure, ole Don may not be a real conservative, but he can say just about anything and have a certain segment of the population swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

They sure know how to spout the Trump party line, don’t they?

You make this way too easy, leta....

Are you forgetting that your very own CRuzie donated to his buddy Midge, via Midge’s NRSC...to the tune of $250K? During an especially cantankerous election with Bevin?

Yeah...way to help ol’ buddy Midge hang in there...for later assist...with his attorney Lycan to head up the pro-CRuz/anti-Trump PAC.

Your name calling is also impressive. Showing who the real ‘clown’ is.

Well, if Donald’s ad said it, it must be true.

Right?

Trump should be forced to explain why he wants to boink his own daughter.

Will his NYC values sell in the heartland? I doubt it.
