Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, confirmed on Monday that he is actively considering running for president as an independent.

In a dramatic interview, the 73-year-old said he was 'looking at all the options' and expressed disgust at the current state of the White House race.

Bloomberg would be the richest candidate in American political history with a fortune of $36 billion, dwarfing the resources of Republican Donald Trump and enabling him to self-fund a campaign many times over.

"Him running would more than likely split the Republican vote in the General Election. "

Maybe on Manhattan island. But on Manhattan, Trump would split the Democrat vote. Other then New York, I can't think of anywhere else in all 57 states that Bloomie would siphon off more Republican votes than Democrat votes. The only place that he could even pretend to be a Republican is in New York, which says more about New York than it says about his values.

I hope (and pray) that Bloomie throws his hat and billions into the ring, but I doubt it. (Or maybe he really is that dumb, and his ego really is that massive. PLEASE!)

Fine by me, it’ll hurt Democrats.

BOL! Tell us how you really feel about Salt Free Bloomie!

NOBODY would want this megalomaniac for a president. It would be like having a combination of Ivan the Terrible and Pol Pot, with a smattering of Mussolini thrown in (I am sure the trains under Bloombutt would run on time). No one would have a voice but him. His cabinet would be a matched set of rubber stamps. I can not even begin to tell you how many lives this filthy runt has ruined in NYC.

He’d be a billionaire Ralph Nader, pulling votes away from the Democrats’ nominee.

Bloomberg would only get Democrat votes. No Republican would vote for him.

Bloomberg may be the only man in America who doesn't know that. Which is why he just might jump in and guarantee a GOP win. A three way race with Bloomberg is Cruz's best bet of winning if he's nominated.

“He’s basically Trump without the mercurial and gauche elements.”

Bloomberg was a lifelong democrat and became a “republican” only to run for major. The minute he won be became an “independent”.

He’s 100% pro-abortion.

He’s 100% queer marriage

He’s 100% anti-2nd Amendment

Bloomberg is 100% a liberal democrat.

He is nanny state big time. Never saw an illegal he didn’t love.

He has nothing in common with Donald Trump.

This Queen of the nanny state is only running because of Trumps support of the 2nd which the Queen of the nanny state is adamantly opposed to. He thinks by running he’s going to take votes from Trump when in reality he would be taking them away from Hitlery because he’s just as left as she is.

There should be a doubt in your mind. It’s a fantastical notion.

Since 1988, a Republican POTUS candidate has cracked 40% only once in NY, in 2004 incumbent President Bush just barely attained that, 3 years after 9/11. Trump would no more win it than Romney won MA.

Any Republican has a zero % chance of carrying NY, unless maybe Bloomberg runs, he hurts the dems, not us.

In 1970 and 1980, far-left RINO incumbents running in third place cost the democrats 2 NY Senatorial elections by taking more votes from them than the real Republicans.

It still befuddles me that an idiot like Bloomberg could become so successful. I must be doing something wrong.

Or another way to look at it is this: "if you want to know what God thinks about money, look at who he's given it to the most."

I’m sure his own polling people are telling him that he doesn’t have the slightest chance of winning.

...and that all he’ll do is hand the election over to the GOP candidate, probably Tump, which will REALLY steer him clear of running.
