At the FTC, Cruz's agenda could have been written by Milton Friedman.

Ted studied "Austrian Economics" when he was 14 yo.

Austrian Economics is much older than Milton Friedman.

Was not one dollar defined as 271.5 grains of silver?
What rate did they use to exchange for gold?

In what year? Up til about 1865, the ratio was 15:1 silver to gold. Somewhere in there it was increased to 16:1. But silver mines kept out producing gold do that by the mid 1870s it was 17:1.
