Cam Newtonâs dream season ended with a nightmare performance.
Fresh off being named the leagueâs MVP, the Panthers fifth-year quarterback was stymied by an aggressive Denver Broncos defense in his first Super Bowl appearance on Sunday.
It didnât get any better off the field, as Newton also walked out during his postgame interview.
âI donât know what you want me to say, Iâm sorry,â a very dejected Newton said, prior to walking off. CBS Sports Radioâs Jim Rome took a shot at Newton following his postgame press conference.
âCamâs presser was weak. If youâre going to celebrate when you win, youâve got to face the music when you lose,â Rome tweeted.

Whiney POS alert
It’s possible he couldn’t hold it together in front of the cameras. He pretty much played the game by himself so he was exhausted and beat up.
0bama likely looks at Von Miller as a fake black man, a sellout going after a black quarterback. I believe 84% of the NFL is black and with a bevy of black quarterbacks there are still those who pull for the black QB solely because of skin color...even black Christians... he turned out to be a petulant tube, superman, ‘me and my girlfriend-celebrate-our-baby-you-should, too” kind of guy. Aren’t Christians no matter what color supposed to be Christian first?
You don’t hear any blacks celebrating Von Miller. Oh, it appears many are on a first name basis with Mr Newton...he is Cam.
I see three year olds pull that in the grocery store over a pack of Oreos.
Obama picked Carolina to win.
No doubt it was racial.
Thank you. That’s the clip I’ve been trying to find. It was slightly longer when shown during the game. Made him look even worse.
Agreed. Huge Seahawk fan here and after his treatment of a young Seahawk fan (grabbed a 12th Man flag from a young boy and tossed it on the ground) a few weeks ago, he lost a great deal of my respect. The final straw was his comment injecting race into the equation.
Inability to cope with defeat is not surprising. Consider, we're raising entire generations of losers who actually think they are winners because they've been told they are special, that everyone applauds them just for trying, just for doing their best. When the inevitable comes along and someone actually says "he wins, you lose" it is a shock to them. All of a sudden it is "not fair" -- how many times have we heard that applied to things that actually were quite fair.
In Cam's case I don't think that was exactly it. A big part of it is, he has a lot of talent and he's won a lot. He's just not used to losing, particularly "the big game." Hopefully he'll emerge a better person and player.
But they got a Participation Trophy, didn’t they?
I am glad Manning was on the winning side as QB. That’s his 200th win...and no else has ever done that.
Anyhow, I still believe Cam’s mistake was thinking he had to outplay Manning.
That was not the issue. Cam had to be prepared to out play the Denver defense.
And he was not prepared to do that.
They put him on his backside more than he has ever been in any other game this entire year (if I am not mistaken). Then they did a pretty good job of hemming him in.
He simply was not prepared for it...and it showed.
To his credit, in one of his answers he did simply say that they were outplayed. He also said that one of the reasons was some of his errant passes.
He was right on both counts, and he simply did not want to talk about it any more..
I don’t know what kind of a person he is... but it might be appropriate to stop wearing the Superman Tshirt.....
They only sacked him 6 times because he’s black. After all, Manning wasn’t sacked that many times.
He is too full of himself. He is a poor winner and a worse loser. As for age, at 26 he's already too old to register for the draft. Age is no excuse.
They must have beat your team.
Lately the news headlines are way out of bounds. The media has discovered they can shape opinion by simply putting their indoctrination in the headline. In some cases the story is the opposite of what the headline says. 75% of people see the headline and move on, the seed is planted in their brain and a new news filter is successfully installed by the media.
In this case, I don’t think Cam did anything bad, he just got tired of answering some brutal questions after being crushed on national TV. I don’t think he was rude about it, maybe he could have hung in a little longer but its not the big deal the media is making it out to be..
As good as the Panther’s defense was(and it was good), Denver’s was superior in every way. Relentless would be the word.
LOL! Uh, no. I refer to the (p)resident as the ‘lyin’ king’. And if he had a son, he would follow in dad’s foot steps and be a petulant whiny ass brat that didn’t get his way as exhibited by cam after the game. I would NEVER call you a liar. :>)
Exactly the problem - Newton played the game himself. Neither he nor the coaches adjusted when it became clear that Wade had his number and the tools to exploit the weaknesses. Good tools and excellent coaching.
Good post.
