Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) made a cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live last night, playing a character named "Bernie Sanderswitzky" who was upset at a passenger on a sinking ship was attempting to hop the line for a lifeboat due to his higher economic status. "Sanderswitzky" said that he was not a socialist, rather that the policy was "democratic socialism," and that the difference between the two was "yuge."

It was VERY funny. I have said all along that if you close your eyes Bernie Sanders sounds exactly like Larry David doing his George Steinbrenner on Seinfeld. It was a very funny segment.

Larry David is a 0001%, he is also a Cheap bastard, his movies on Amazon, should rent at the going price, but not Larry, his movies even after two or three years, still rent at the price of movies just released.

Gee, I would think Loren Michaels is also a 1 percenter, probably in the 1% of the 1 percenters given his show has been on tv for 40 years (which only the first 10 years were any good)....just sayin’.

The appropriate allegory is The Ant and the Grasshopper, except the grasshopper keeps insulting the ant even after the ant gives the grasshopper’s friends and family “free” healthcare, food and housing.

Just convince the dumb masses that government is the solution to meet their whims, they will vote for the freebies.

It was kind of funny. Best parts were the Ted Cruz cold open, and David’s opening monologue.

At the end of the Ted Cruz bit, “Ted” asks primary voters, when they go to the polls, to first ask themselves which candidate would Paul Giamotti most likely play. Made me laugh.

I was so hoping they’d do the Dem debate, with Larry as Bern, and the chick who does Hill so well.

Very quickly, they added the intro debacle from the R debate into their Weekend Update segment and it was hilarious. “That right there is the only time you will see Jeb Bush passing Donald Trump.” The actual footage was hilarious, the stage hand trying to push them forward....

In the course of his research for "Solzhenitsyn: A Soul in Exile" (Harper Collins), Joseph Pearch traveled to Moscow to interview the writer. The excerpt below is from that interview:
Solzhenitsyn: "In different places over the years I have had to prove that socialism, which to many western thinkers is a sort of kingdom of justice, was in fact full of coercion, of bureaucratic greed and corruption and avarice, and consistent within itself that socialism cannot be implemented without the aid of coercion. Communist propaganda would sometimes include statements such as, 'we include almost all the commandments of the Gospel in our ideology.' The difference is that the Gospel asks all this to be achieved through love, through self-limitation, but socialism only uses coercion. This is one point.

"Untouched by the breath of God, unrestricted by human conscience, both capitalism and socialism are repulsive." - Solzhenitsyn interview with Joseph Pearch

That doesn’t make him a cheap bastard. Paying low wages to his production crews, scrimping on budgets for sets and costumes, those would make him a cheap bastard. Charging high prices for old merchandise makes him a greedy prick. He admitted last night that he was a rich prick, so that’s not far off.

I like those quotes - thank you. Reminds me of this quote from James Madison:

If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If
angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal con‐
trols on government would be necessary. In framing a gov‐
ernment which is to be administered by men over men, the
great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the govern‐
ment to control the governed; and in the next place, oblige it
to control itself. A dependence on the people is no doubt the
primary control on the government; but experience has
taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions.1

Notice Sanders is never asked directly about Karl Marx.

Or to state openly he is an atheist.

Dems get the softballs.
