The establishment hates the truth.
... Trump said, who noted Jeb and everyone else in the debate also supports eminent domain when it comes to the Keystone pipeline....
*****************************************************************************
Yep, me too....I support the proper use of eminent domain when it is CONSTITUTIONAL (i.e., for PUBLIC USE and with proper COMPENSATION).
Trump has smoked so much out, about the establishment, this campaign season.
Keep at ‘em, Trump! Keep showing us the MSM/DC Cabal/GOPee’s dirty underbelly.
It wasn’t a debate in any traditional sense. I had it on the radio and turned it off at the first question.
The crowd was hooting and cheering during the opening introductions. The crowd was far too vocal, I would’ve been tossing them from the room at that point.
And the first question was a “Cruz says this about you, how do you feel/respond” thing about nuking Denmark and foreign policy.
I’m tired of the reality show media driven debates. Idiocracy is here.
I haven't heard him directly address the Kelo decision so I'm going on what I've heard from other sources.
The fact that no other candidate has called him on it and explained how it's supposed to work tells me they are no better than he is on it.
Now he knows what it’ll be like giving the State Of The Union address. Suck it up, DT!
Donald Trump said he supports the Kelo decision “100 percent.”
Today, little eminent domain is for things like highways, most of it is used for redevelopment of distressed areas to increase the tax base: high rise construction, malls... and yes, casinos with significant parking.
This is a last gasp issue to come at Trump, and the hope of those who bring the issue up is that people are ignorant of the facts.
He was booed for having a non-conservative position on eminent domain, and rightly so, there is no spinning it otherwise. Eminent domain is for necessary public projects, not shopping malls and the like.
Do you consider the Keystone pipeline public use? It would be owned by a private company.
Most of the pipelines that were put in to support gasoline distribution after the advent of the automobile were a combination of direct purchase but when necessary the use of e.d. Those were forced to allow for the pipeline developments that otherwise would never have happened. The excessive use of e.d. for private use is dangerous. However, it is not something that should be completely shut down.
Keystone is private company forreign money as I understand.
So you don’t support the Keystone Pipeline, which is a private venture? Now, Donald Trump has said that he would make Keystone more “public” by demanding a cut of the profits for the federal government. But as it stands, Keystone is a private project that needs to use eminent domain to be built.
None of the debates are debates in the traditional sense and haven’t been for some time, they are more like joint press conferences.
Worked to Trump’s advantage. He exposed them, shut them up, and even forced them to applaud later.
Everyone likes an underdog, and the GOPe is quickly turning Trump into an underdog.
The eminent domain issue has now come up in three debates but never raised to the level of last night.
CNN’s panel said it was packed with GOP donors, “not the average voters”.
Their booing was over the top and showed an obvious bias. Advantage Trump.
You are not correct. Most eminent domain today is for redevelopment for a tax base. That is considered the public good. Consider rundown neighborhoods in many cities. The use of eminent domain allows the properties to be bought up and converted to upscale houses... known as gentrification. This benefits the city by bringing in taxpayers and it benefits the city by being able to increase taxes on the property. This is a Republican, conservative and Constitutional position. What is wrong with folks here?
